Capcom U.S.A. announced on Friday that the Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 games will get releases for the Nintendo Switch in 2019. The company plans to announce more information soon.
The original Resident Evil (Biohazard) survival horror game debuted for PlayStation in 1996. The game has received ports for Sega Saturn, PC, and Nintendo DS. A remake for the Nintendo GameCube also shipped in 2002, followed by a Wii port in 2008, and a remaster of the GameCube game launched for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in 2015.
CAPCOM originally released Resident Evil 0 on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. The game received a port for Wii in 2008, and a remaster for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC launched in 2016. The game's story is set before the events of the first Resident Evil game. Players switch between controlling officer Rebecca Chambers and death row convict Billy Coen as they progress through the game.
CAPCOM first released the Resident Evil 4 game for GameCube and later for PlayStation 2 in 2005. The company has since ported the game to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS and Android devices, and PC. The game's story follows Leon S. Kennedy as he tries to rescue the U.S. president's daughter.
