Chainsaw Man U.K. Blu-ray and DVD Released on Monday

Also 4K/Blu-ray of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, releases of Gundam Build Fighters, short film Harmonie, standard Blu-rays of stop-motion JUNK HEAD and Wings of Honneamise

On Monday December 18, Crunchyroll will release Blu-ray and DVD editions of Chainsaw Man Season 1, carrying the first twelve episodes of the series. Anime-on-Line describes the story:

"Denji is a young boy who works as a Devil Hunter with the 'Chainsaw Devil' Pochita. One day, as he was living his miserable life trying to pay off the debt he inherited from his parents, he got betrayed and killed. As he was losing his consciousness, he made a deal with Pochita, and got resurrected as the 'Chainsaw Man': the owner of the Devil's heart and is soon enlisted into an organization dedicated to hunting devils."

Ryū Nakayama (Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen episode director) directed the anime at MAPPA, and Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Attack on Titan The Final Season) wrote the scripts, based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) designed the characters, and Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover, Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls) directed the action. Makoto Nakazono (DARLING in the FRANXX, Little Witch Academia) served as chief technical director. Kiyotaka Oshiyama (DEVILMAN crybaby, Space Dandy) designed the devils, and Yūsuke Takeda (Eden of the East, Vinland Saga) directed the art. Naomi Nakano was the color key artist, and Yohei Miyahara designed the screens. kensuke ushio (DEVILMAN crybaby, Liz and the Blue Bird, A Silent Voice) composed the music.

Crunchyroll will also release a 4K UHD/Blu-ray edition of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. This edition also includes a lenticular O-card. Anime-on-line describes the story:

"Descendants of the Red Ribbon Army's sinister leaders have renewed their quest for world domination. As their two ultra-powerful androids seek their own brand of justice against Earth's heroes, Piccolo and Gohan must push their powers to new limits."

Tetsuro Kodama directed the film, and Naoki Satō composed the music. Nobuhito Sue was the art director, Chikashi Kubota was the animation director, and Jae Hoon Jung was the CG director. Dragon Ball original manga creator Akira Toriyama worked on the film's original story, screenplay, and character designs.

Anime Limited will release the first volume of Gundam Build Fighters as a Collector's Blu-ray, carrying the 13 episodes of the series.

Crunchyroll has previously described the series:

"Iori Sei, is a young Gunpla builder who loves Gunpla and dreams of entering the Gunpla Battle World Tournament. As the only heir to a hobby shop, he has high Gunpla building abilities, but he doesn't know how to control them in battle and is continually defeated in the opening rounds of tournaments. When he meets Reiji, a mysterious boy with superb Gunpla control skills, they team up to take on the World Tournament."

Kenji Nagasaki (No. 6) drected the series off scripts supervised by Yousuke Kuroda (Gundam 00). Kenichi Ohnuki (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed C.E.73: Stargazer, Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time – A Tale of the Eight Guardians, Garzey's Wing) designed the characters in collaboration with Suzuhito Yasuda (Yozakura Quartet, Durarara!!, Devil Survivor 2 The Animation). The mecha designer roster included Kunio Okawara, Junichi Akutsu, Junya Ishigaki, Kanetake Ebikawa, and Kenji Teraoka.

Anime Limited will also release a Collector's Blu-ray/DVD edition of Yasuhiro Yoshiura's 2014 stand-alone short film Harmonie. The film was originally created as part of the Anime Mirai project. This edition includes a 32-page booklet and is exclusive to the "AllTheAnime" website, which summarises the story:

"Akio Honjou is a student with an incredible gift - the ability to perfectly recall any piece of music after hearing it only once. It's this skill which leads him to meet Juri Makina, after trying to reproduce an ear-catching melody he hears from her mobile phone. Beguiled by his classmate, Akio hopes that this song can reveal more about her, and so this simple ringtone becomes a springboard to allow the two to learn about one another's thoughts, dreams, and the world each of them inhabits within their mind."

Anime Limited will also release a standard Blu-ray edition of the stop-motion science-fiction film Junk Head.
