I love his movies! But I just hope i ain't the same plot where two lovers are always separated by time and distance ... I really LOVED Children Who chase Lost Voices! I really hope he would make more fantasy movies like that! Anyhow, this new movie looks gorgeous! can't wait!

His movies are too slow for my taste, but at least the art and animation are beautiful, and it looks like that is in full effect here.

His movies are beautiful but I don't see myself watching it the 2nd time. I also don't find the stories memorable.

The art direction looks great. But it sounds more like two lovers finding each other, just before the world ends in a hail of meteorites. More unrequited love.

I have really high hopes for this. I loved 5cm Per Second, Voices of Distant Star, and (especially) The Place Promised in Our Early Day (what a title). While i've liked his works since these 3, none of them have really grabbed me in the same way these did. But the sounds of it, this could really be something awesome. I hope this will end up being shown in US theaters somewhere.

...for suitably small values of "end".

Does anyone know what song is played in the video of all of Makoto Shinkai's works? I haven't seen all of his works, so I don't know if it's a new song or a song used before.

I believe it's:
Garden of Words
Ending Theme Song "Rain"
Written & Composed by Senri Oe
Peformed by Motohiro Hata

Was fortunate enough to see this movie at Anime Expo this year. So good.
