Oh, nice. This is one of those series I mentally noted as "I'd love to see this licensed, but I doubt it'll ever happen." Posthuman sci-fi plus yuri, few combinations could please me more.

Seven Seas is absolutely killing it with these announcements.

This one just does nothing for me, from the cover to the description of the series. And, names attached to a project don't carry as much weight with me as they do for some others. There is a degree of trust in seeing a name of a creator I like attached, but I never blindly buy everything from a certain creator or think that their new project must be good because they made it.

Of course we have no idea if this is any good, but as a Shirow fan, I'll at least check it out. I'm hoping he's actually involved with the project, as opposed to having his name slapped on for marketing.

Huh, when did Shirow last work on a manga? I thought he had moved to illustration work only.

He did the manga adaptation of RD Sennou Chousashitsu (Real Drive), but that was a while back. He still does manga, but they're all ero-manga, with just a few ongoing color pages published in COMIC Anthurium. I think most of these ends up collected into his various books like GREASEBERRIES.

The first Volume is horrendous and the creators only have good adaptations to their names and almost no high quality original work to speak of. They are also hentai artists. This is why the underage lesbian cyborg leads have to finger each other to activate their powers. Take Real Drive or that other Ghost then take everything good out and make sure that the characters are thinner then a piece of paper give them fetish clothes and you have this manga. The creators shouldn´t wonder why they aren´t relevant anymore outside of porn doujinshis.

Of course there are fans that will take a measured approach. I didn't mean to paint fans of any creator with the same brush.

Personally, if there is something by creators I like and it's new, I usually wait until the first episode/volume/issue/whatever is released and reviewed to have a better idea about it. Though, that only applies if something in the promotional materials doesn't capture my eye, like the story synopsis etc.

I've never bought anything purely based on a name (or names) being attached. I only mentioned that because of a previous time something similar was announced (Yuri Kuma Arashi, similar only in terms of there being some excited due to the names attached...not content), I had asked why people were hyped and what was I missing, it was all based around the names involved. So, just thought I'd make it clear what my thoughts are on the issue as a couple here were already hyped for this due to the names attached. Laughing

The sci-fi plot sounds really cool but.......that cover concerns me, especially given Seven Seas' history. Hoping it's just a marketing ploy to entice their existing fanbase.

This is why I'm interested, Shirow doing a (mostly) non-hentai work is mindblowing.Smile

On the other hand, this has me worried:

But I'll wait for more info.

Same here, I'm not spending any money until I see something first. I'll wait for some impressions from the Japanese version or that Seven Seas will put out some samples.

Your guess is as good as mine. But this isn't Kodomo no Jikan.

I was excited, but now I'm confused, so its confirmed Shirow's only contribution is the concept?

Yes. It says so in the manga itself.

Okay, I feel a little better. Will you guys be releasing more details anytime soon?

Oh well, it's worth a look, at the very least.

Wow, that's the first time a Shirow manga didn't get published by Dark Horse. Maybe they know something Yen doesn't?

that 's asurprise by me too.i would have to say that the content for this manga is nothing like ghost in the shell which is the only reason why Yen Press have the manga rights and not Dark Horse Comics.

if it was like GITS , then it would have been automatically be in dark horses hands.

Not familiar with the artist, but if the art on the cover is the same as inside the manga, I still would be interested even if Shirow's name wasn't involved.

I will buy the first volume, and see if it is any good. Even if the story is not great, sometimes the art can transcend it. The cover and the name are the hook, lets see if we get caught.
