Does anyone know for sure whether or not the regular Japanese edition is going to have the subtitles and dub on it? Because I've had it on pre-order for a while and don't see the sense in buying the extra expensive Export Version when I could buy the Japanese edition for a fraction of the cost.

Yeah, I read that. But CDJapan is claiming the Japanese Blu-Ray won't have subtitles, and I can't remember if they also said that for the first episode of Unicorn. Amazon Japan doesn't say anything about specs other than the basics.

The fine print suggests the export version will be a manufactured in Japan version for international release, i.e. they're making a separate disc for international shipment.

The actual disc with the anime content should be the same in the regular BD edition and special edition. Amazon.co.jp does not always list subtitles and dubs in the product's page, but if Bandai Visual says it will have an English dub and several subtitle tracks, it is true. I have a few of their English subbed releases.

I think I'll just continue to collect the manga and skip the anime.

Any word on how long each OVA is? 30 mins is an absolute no go. 60 mins ala Unicorn I will consider. If they make them 90+ mins like the final Unicorn OVA will definitely dip for the regular edition.

EDIT: 60 mins per cdjapan, 73 mins per amazon for episode for OVA 1 eh. So looks to be the around the same format as Unicorn. Will think about dipping.

I'll be buying the higher end edition so excited. Collecting Gundam UC for so many years was a blast. Now its time for ORIGIN and yes my wallet has been prepared since last year lol.

BTW bought all JP volumes of UC including the two limited sets with the bonus discs. Never had a regret.

If the whole world is sharing on the burden, then the price should be lower than if it's Japan-only.
