With how the series and especially the movie kept bringing up a world-class senshado tournament I can't help but think this "Final Chapter" is meant to bring a close for the Ooarai High School senshado team.
Really glad that a sequel was announced though. The GuP movie was the most fun I've had watching anime in quite awhile.

Yeah, this is the weird part... unless this is specifically for this group and the follow up will be a whole new cast which is popular these days for some reason. Let's see:
Strike Witches.
Working.
Soul Eater. Not.
Love Live
It's a dumb premise that the producers pulled off beyond all reason of expectations, one of my personal favorite series if not franchises. As for what the final project is, I'm betting on movie. Unlike the anime or OVA examples, It probably made a tidy outright profit for the company.

I would take that with a grain of salt, while the tank porn was high grade, specially the dark, claustrophobic interiors (it would have been great to see some shots inside the Char's 1-man turret since they got the Pz IV and 38 (t) down tight), the performance and tactics were strictly anime fantasy (the idea that anybody would survive a CV3 rollover unharmed and be able to right it and keep going is one of the more laughable of many such moments).

I have to quote this for ultimate truth. When I heard the premise my eye-roll was biblical, but what they managed to do was beyond all positive expectations. It is still a "cute girls doing cute things show," but it rises to the top of the genre.

Man, Japan just loves killing off franchises at the height of their popularity.
Then again, it's better to end at the top of your game than it is to turn out like Bleach where news of it ending was met with a near unanimous 'Oh. Okay'.

Director said that continuing with GuP is hard, because tank battles can get repetitive.
I'm really glad this will be the end (if final means exactly that). It's always best to end on high note.

Something tells me that Sentai will want to announce a movie license soon. It would to their "cute girls doing cute things" catalog ("A-Channel", "Hidemari Sketch", "Is the order a rabbit?", "K-ON!", "Shirobako", etc.).

Oh god no. Their subs on the series were impossibly awful(referring to a StuG as an "assault"!). I don't want them to have any more to do with this franchise.
