What's normal to people who have been anime fans for 10+ years is not necessarily normal to new fans... Would you show your parents Love Hina? Hell no.

The fact that a thing has been happening since forever does not mean it needs to continue happening forever. Life changes, the world evolves, and every once in awhile, shit happens. Watching the evolution of an industry is our privilege, as fans of that industry. Talking about my personal desire for one specific evolutionary direction is also my privilege as a fan. Taking about the shows I'm watching and the interesting things I see in them is yet another privilege. As fans, these are things we have in common. Being generally awful to one another over differing opinions or principles? Kind of a shitty thing to do.
And seriously, if I'm the first person you've ever encountered who doesn't enjoy the tsundere archetype, welcome to the Internet. Let's be real, guys. Differing opinions are differing. Life lessons 101.

Alright people time to get this train back on the tracks. The discussion into "taming" someone, who should or should not be watching anime, or any other sexism related debating stops now. This is all OT and some of you are being rather rude as well. So it's time to drop it and get back on topic. Thank you.

Good episode. Nice to see that the fried chicken arc hasn't been left out.

When the only ramen I've eaten is out of a box? Damn right it looks delicious.

I have had the joy of having REAL ramen with all the fixings made before. It is very delicious and satisfying. Even made it myself a few times. Much like real homemade pho soup. There's this little Asian noodle carryout place near my work and they do both. As well as several other types of noddle dishes. I love it. Though when getting the soups it's best to just dine in and not get it to go. Just doesn't turn out the same.

I can imagine it wouldn't turn out the same. Sadly I live out in the middle of nowhere. The most we have is an inky dinky Chinese place down the road.

I still meet people who get into Naruto and think that when he talks about ramen, he talks strictly about Cup Noodles and Instant Lunch, then get confused as to why he goes to a restaurant to eat that stuff. Particularly if someone doesn't live in a place with many Japanese people, they might have never heard of fresh ramen (which probably sounds as oxymoronic to them as "fresh microwave burritos" or "fresh fish sticks").

Well for someone who's been eating cup ramen for the longest time, yeah.

Most Asian carryout's don't even do it. There are several carryout's in my area and none have ramen. Only one has pho and it's watered down. I find it much easier to simply make it yourself. Most of the work is in the prepping of the ingredients.

Within a few miles of my office there are a dozen or so ramen shops. I don't usually eat at those but our Japanese customers do so regularly when they visit. Funny thing is most of them are owned and operated by Koreans.
The quality will vary all over the place but although I could imagine having it for breakfast for some reason it just doesn't seem to work for most people. It is a lunch/diner counter type of dish and for Jōichirō to somehow make it palatable not only for breakfast but for three judges of varied taste (they called it needs) is pretty remarkable. I have to wonder if that would ever work in real life.
