I'm rating this Very Good. I totally get Dusky Predator's reaction above. I've said before that this was almost too SoL for me, but I thought it was extremely well done. I was invested in Ganta and Magari's relationship so when his confession finally came it resonated with me. I'm glad we never had to deal with the potential tragedy that hung like an emotional sword of Damocles almost from the very start. Even invoking the name Methuselah in the episode put me on edge because of the potential that there was an irony in referencing a famously old person in a story about somebody who is not destined to get very old at all. Fortunately, the story ended before that had to be contended with. The manga is still on going (I assume) so I wonder if that's still coming down the pike? Oh well, that's a matter for another day.

I really like slice of life anime, so the pace and not much drama happening worked for me. I grew to like the mc's and how they make each other better. I was relieved to not have a tragic ending on our hands....for this season at least. That said, part of the story is to make the most out of every day and situation. My only real complaint is that the theme of insomnia is not as prevalent as I would have expected. It is a big thing in the earlier episodes to then kind of not be a major thing later on anymore.
