I would love a release of the Kai season but unfortunately, thats never going to happen. If anything we were lucky to have funimation save the season 1 series from geneon. If the rest of the series would be released over here then it won't be by funimation. They said they would never even consider licensing a series even remotely close to higurashi due to previous bad sales.

I had a lotta expectations for Higurashi Kaku and like the trailer shows, it won't be an ecchi-like fan-service like Higurashi Kira was. Kaku 'll be again an serious, violent, brutal, gory, pesimistic and mindfucking gorefeast like we know that from the first season of this saga. Even Rena 'll be again a real Jason Vorhees-like, raging killer. I have read the original script of Kaku too. It has a lot of simliarities with the 2010 remake of George A. Romeros cult movie The Crazies and ended with an cliffhanger. I hope the adaption gives an better conclusion than what the script shows.

I thought they were making a reboot of the series, so they are just making a movie instead? Oh well, I'd say the first Higurashi series was the best anyway (I would love them to go back to that old style T.T)
This seems more serious compared to the *ahem* last OVA's they made....bleah....what got me first in the series was how messed up and bloody it was, but over time I found there was more to Higurashi than that. Plus I love Rena! She's my favorite because I seem to have alot in common with her, in a way ;;

Uhh wha? I found the crazies to be boring DX (for some reason, the original at least yeah cool idea but it seemed to drone a lot)
lol Rena as Jason? Interesting comparison, I liked to team her up with Freddy Krueger which is ironic

Why such bad sales? I mean who wouldn't want an anime about young adults killing each other for the sake of demotic entities?
