Yesterday when I looked at No Game No Life I went "hurmph" to when I look at it I go "Red line art.... that looks neat (artistically)"I guess I'll watch an episode just to see the red line art in action...

Will probably give No Game No Life a shot for that colorful artstyle.
While part of the story sounds pretty typical at least the predicting moves and other intellectual parts of the descriptions tied into the character descriptions sound interesting/make me curious.

Unfortunately the anime hasn't retained the crazy gradient hair, but that would be a budget killer.

I like the colorful art style for NGNL, but I'll probably skip it because reading the story and such just had me rolling my eyes.

Am I the only one kind of put off by No Game No Life's artstyle? To me it kind of looks like what 3D movies look like without the glasses.

No Game no Life looks interesting. The art style looks trippy. Like the author's other work A Dark Rabbit Has seven lives, only way more flashy and colorful. Hope it turns out good. The intellectual battle thing sounds weird though.

So that's why she picked him for her partner.
In all seriousness, it at least doesn't seem as weird as A Centaur's Life or Monster Musume, but that premise still carries a bit of squick, if she's:
A) Not human.
B) A Magical Girlfriend.

Why can't the dragon ever be male in these stories? It's always some "dragon who takes the form of a human girl" story nowadays.

Because only chicks and gay dudes would be up for that: i.e. demographics in anime that don't matter.

The "____ takes the form of a human girl" premise is a subgenre at this point.
This one lost me after looking at the character list, seeing a male lead, and then about ten female characters of varying tropes/body designs/fetishy styles before getting to the only other male character, who looks to be the villain of this color-by-numbers sameness.

So if the protagonist is male and the dragon is male, it automatically becomes "only for chicks and gay dudes"?

I know, but I'm talking about anything dragon-related. At least there's currently one dragon-related item at this point that has a male dragon and male human protagonist that I can enjoy.

No.
But there'd be a LOT of gayshipping if that happened. Now I want to see something like that come out.

They could just take on human like forms while keeping dragon features, look at the image below for such an example. Also keep in mind dragon girls like any other monster girl need love to.

I've been personally wishing for a show like that for years now.

Are we talking about a trap or just a normal boy/man? This is very important.
