Whats wrong with wanting your food to be cute when you eat it? Make a little octopus out of a hotdog and everyone's cool with it, but make fried chicken puppies and suddenly everyone freaks out. What's the logic here? That it being a dead chicken is cool but it being in the shape of something cuter is horrible?
Eh, I think it looks cool. I never think to try to shape food, so I'm quite impressed. |

I don't think a lot of people are truly distressed by this, just saying that they wouldn't want to eat something so meticulously prepared. You'd probably see similar reactions to art sushi or particularly elaborate gingerbread houses.
Cut-up hot dogs sliced to look like octopi are comparatively simple and easy, not to mention very common, so you don't get these astonished reactions out of people. |

People put a lot of value over their domesticated animals than others, for no real reason other than they have more contact with them and own them. So poor Mr Octopus gets short shrift. He shouldn't worry, still delicious!
