More therapeutically, there is the PARO seal, designed to be a soothing pet for people with dementia e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFMenahpJtI
I've held one, and it's fairly cute, though still a bit spooky. Not sure I want to spend my final days stroking a PARO whilst Pepper gives me my medication
