I was really hoping that third hint would be enough for someone to find the answer, but anyway, here is one more hint.
Hint 1: When he was younger, he befriended a creature he met in the forest. Hint 2: This anime is intended to promote a recent game in a long running franchise. Hint 3: While most of the anime and games in this franchise involve capturing, training, and battling the titular creatures, this anime is set at a time in the past before people and those creatures learned to live together. Hint 4: The region where this anime takes place is based on Hokkaido. In parts of the franchise set later in time that region is called Sinnoh. However, this anime's English title refers to it by it's past name, as used in the associated game. |

Well, no one guessed and time is up, so the turn is open. The answer was Akio or (Alec in the English version) from Pokémon: Hisuian Snow.
I'm wondering, did no one guess because no one was here, or because the hints weren't good, or just because people don't like to look up the answers if they haven't seen the anime in question? |
