I seriously hope it hits the $3.75 million mark at least before the kickstarter ends. Orchestrated tracks are awesome and I would love to hear what they come up with. The third playable character at $4.25 million would be a great one to hit as well. The more playable characters, the better. That way if someone doesn't like the other two, maybe they'll like the third.

I wish they changed the priorities and put a 3rd playable character over online PvP. At this rate it most likely won't reach 4.25mil. Hopefully it reaches at least 3.7mil for orchestrated tracks.

i won't support kickstarter ever again. I only support people who put their money on the line.

Most kickstarters just steal money from those poor online people, then release garbage. or steal and run.

Good shit, 3.5 mill to support a dead platform lol get bent IGA.

Not literally 3.5 mill for the nitpickers, but you get my point.

Eh who knows Sony is supposed to have it's own segment devoted to the Vita, so maybe they will get off their buts and start pushing out more stuff for it.

At the very least send more games to NA and europe that are typically only Japanese release.

While this definitely happens sometimes, it's mostly just the tiny little no-name indie games you need to be wary of. Saying most kickstarters are shams is way overblown.

There's risk, but in general less to worry about with crowdfunding campaigns from prominent developers and professional companies. You certainly don't need to worry about a hugely successful Kickstarter from the creator of Castlevania, or others like Yooka-Laylee from ex-Rare devs or Double Fine taking your money and running. Exercising caution is fine, but there's little need to be paranoid about it.

There is, of course, always the question of whether these games will actually turn out good or not, but many of these hugely successful campaigns come from prominent/popular creators with a very good track record for quality games, otherwise, they would never have been so successful in the first place.

Just because schizophrenics shut down projects because the sun told them to or Tim Shaffer can't handle money properly doesn't mean every Kickstarter is doomed from the start. Is there anything you find suspicious about this one in particular?

Are you serious? This is from known and respected industry veteran, not some crappy indie company that came out of no where. Hell, this game itself is basically just Castlevania returning to it's roots.

nothing suspicious. I just feel like people should use their own money.
especially for those people who have millions.

And then games like this would never get made. That is kind of the point of Kickstarter. Developers can go to Kickstarter for a game that publishers weren't willing to let them make. And then the fans fund the game. These Kickstarter devs don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund the development of the game themselves. That's why publishers exist.

yes, Koji Igarashi have millions to fund the project. he just want to US other people's money. Also, publishers fund the project, so they a cut of the money make from game sales. IF you don't have enough and you think your game is good, you can always borrow money from the bank.

Some publishers like Square Enix, get 100% of the profit from Dragon Quest, developers get certain % pay up front then other half at the end. rather DQ sells or not it's not their problem. That's why Dragon Quest had many different developers studio. No Studio make all the DQ games.

Not quite. He actually got venture capitalists to give him some funding. But they told him that they wouldn't give him the funding unless he ran a Kickstarter campaign to prove there was interest for the game. At this point, obviously the Kickstarter campaign has way outdone both the venture capitalists' and Iga's expectations.

Considering a lot of people who like anime, and this is ANN, like jrpgs and anime style games, then the Vita has a good selection, better than anything I can find on the wii u or xbox one.

Hearts R
Persona Golden
Freedom Wars
Corpse Party
Dangan Ronpa
Neptunia
Hatsune Miku
Code Embryo
Senran Kaguran
Sorecery Saga
Conception
Disgaea
Etc.

And if you throw in Japanese imports the list is like three or four times as long
