Awesome, go Ushio & Tora! Very Happy

I just wish that translated to disc sales.

It's always such an odd contrast between what seems to be selling well, or financially successful at all, versus what shows up on these lists. I guess it is just 1,349 people, but even so. I mean Ushio to Tora hasn't really made waves, from what I've heard and I thought Shimoneta was a massive flop. And then there's Durarara!! which has been a pretty notorious failure, yet is still in the top 10. It's just a little interesting.

How is an overly FAN SERVICED anime like Prison School become #2??? what is so funny about fan service? is it some kind of sexual pleasure for everyone?! Yes, I hate fan service more than anything in the world. Fan Service ruins everything for me...I'm against fan service..its pointless...but I guess I can't do anything about it since Japanese loves that crap so much...Its like REAL plot and action doesn't exist anymore...I guess SEX sells....

There you go generalizing every single genre as 'fan service'. if fan service is all you're seeing, you're watching the wrong shows, just FYI.

Did you just contradict yourself? Because I believe Monster Musume has an unhealthy dose of fan service as well.

Anyways, I'm glad that Ranpo Kitan is number 11. That show didn't receive enough love on ANN.

Rokka was my favorite from the last summer season, but it is in 20th place. No wonder why its sells are so low.

Umaru-chan first episode wasn't funny for me, and that's why I just didn't care about what was next. I have no intention to watch Prison School because it looks stupid in a way I can't stand.

I can understand that Umaru-chan is funny for some and it's cute and moe and that appeals, but what is so good about Prison School? Not that I'm against fan-service or anything (I've watched and enjoyed MonMusu), but I can't find anything attractive in that series.

do you really think Fan Service is all there is about Prison School?
for me its strongest point is its comedy aspect.

But it's killing it in the ratings department so it's all good.

Prison school sets up cleaver jokes with its fan service that leads into more cleaver jokes in following episodes(like the @ssman getting caught watching porn, then burying it, then getting blackmailed for it, then having an philosophical speech about it). Plus, the main core aspect of prison school is sticking with your friends.
Monmusu is one of the worst shows i have ever seen that just relies on its unique character designs and that's it. no thought put into its character, jokes or story. Just a paint by the numbers Harem. The first episode had every single thing i hate about harem and fan service shows.

I hate to say it but killua guy up there you have it backwards.
It was nothing other than story, plot, and action that brought me into the anime fandom, fan service is just lazy, typical, and has absolutly no value. I don't mind it as long as it does not continue to increase and ruin my favorite series. I don't know how anyone else would veiw fan service but to me it is a dreadful virus that has a firm root in Japan and it does not plan to stay in the dirt for long, it aims for the top of the tree (where the epic series are) and in the end the tree becomes a lifeless hollow peice of decomposition. and in some cases we have seen this, a good example is naruto's fillers although it is not actually linked to the story it is still just fan service. Fan service is mainly derived from sad stereotypes. It makes mangaka out there lazy, it is a nuisance in our world which is to be utterly abhorred.

Wow, that's pretty hardcore man. You mean you didn't get off to the big boobed sadistic vice president sweating buckets while doing squats in the school yard? Man, I thought everyone found that stuff as hot. Rolling Eyes

Don't you think you're overreacting a bit? I mean, it's admirable that you value story over sexual pandering in anime, but to say there's something inherently wrong with fanservice comes dangerously close to saying there something wrong with sexuality. Personally, if fanservice is done in moderation and with both sexes I think it's fine. As long as it is not forced in and does not consume the plot.
