Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the film Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth and plans to release it digitally and on home video.
The film opened in 2011 in Japan in paired screenings with Negima Magister Negi Magi: Anime Final. Original manga artist Kenjirō Hata wrote the film's story.
Sentai Filmworks describes the story:
When the star-crossed mistress/butler couple take a trip to a secluded vacation retreat, they find themselves trapped in conflicting realities! If it's not bad enough that Hayate finds himself in a world where Nagi seems to have never existed, Nagi's having an even less wonderful life, trapped in a mysterious and deadly amusement park of doom!
Sentai Filmworks also licensed all four anime series based on Hayate the Combat Butler.
