Mixed Vegetables' Komura Ends Mori no Takuma-san Manga

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Story of girl who meets overweight perfect boyfriend launched in October 2015

Mixed Vegetables author Ayumi Komura's Mori no Takuma-san manga will end in this year's 23rd issue of Shueisha's Margaret magazine on November 5. The same issue will also include the second half of Ryoko Ikeda's two-part extra episode of her The Rose of Versailles manga.

The story of Mori no Takuma-san centers on Karin, a girl who dreams of falling in love with a man like a prince. Although she has trouble finding a guy who meets her idealized standards, Karin's mother finally sets her up with the son of a company president. The description of Takuma seems to fit Karin's standards. However, when she meets him, Karin finds out that Takuma is overweight. The two realize they knew each other as children, and Takuma asks Karin to marry him. She turns Takuma down but decides she does want to spend more time with him.

Komura launched the series in October 2015. Shueisha released the third compiled volume in August, and the fourth will ship in Japan on November 25.

Komura ended her Full Dozer manga in August 2015 after launching the series in December 2014. She previously ended her cross-dressing shōjo manga Usotsuki Lily (Liar Lily) in May 2014, after a five-year run.

Viz Media published Komura's Mixed Vegetables manga in print and digital forms in North America. The American Library Association's Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) division listed the first Mixed Vegetables volume among the "great graphic novels for teens" published in 2009.
