Cast from Spike Chunsoft's PS Vita game reprise roles for anime shorts premiering on April 12

The official YouTube channel of Kenka Banchō Otome: Girl Beats Boys, the television anime short series adaptation of Spike Chunsoft's Kenka Banchō Otome romance simulation game, began streaming a new promotional video for the anime on Thursday. The video introduces the character Takayuki Konparu.

A previous video had introduced the character Totomaru Minowa.

The anime will premiere in Japan on April 12 at 10:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX. The anime will also air on Sun TV at midnight later that evening. The anime will have a total of 12 episodes, and each episode will be 10 minutes long.

The show's male cast are reprising their roles from the game. The cast includes:

Hibiku Yamamura as Hinako Nakayama

KENN as Totomaru Minowa

Shouta Aoi as Takayuki Konparu

Yoshimasa Hosoya as Rintarou Kira

Tetsuya Kakihara as Yuta Mirako

Tomoaki Maeno as Houou Onigashima

The returning cast also includes Tsubasa Yonaga as Hikaru Onigashima and Takashi Kondo as Haruo Sakaguchi.

Noriaki Saito (episode director for Btooom!, Yumeiro Pâtissière, Log Horizon) is directing the series at anime studios project No.9 and A-Real. Spike Chunsoft is credited with the original work. Natsuko Takahashi (Brothers Conflict, Norn9, My Love Story!!) is in charge of series composition, and Majiro (Macross Delta, Barakamon) is in charge of animation character design with Akane Yano (And you thought there is never a girl online?) credited for sub character design. Setsuna Records and Simple Notes are in charge of the music. The four-member group Love Desire is performing the opening theme song "Love Sniper" and the ending theme song "Gankō Signal."

Spike Chunsoft released the game on the PlayStation Vita in Japan last May. The story centers on Hinako, who has grown up not knowing her parents and thinking she has no relatives. One day, a boy named Hikaru appears before her, and says he's her older twin brother. Hikaru asks Hinako to take his place at attending a famous private all-boys academy for delinquents.

Spike Chunsoft announced in November that the game is getting a fandisc titled Kenka Banchō Otome: Kanzen Muketsu no My Honey. A manga adaptation titled Kenka Banchō Otome: Koi no Battle Royale by Chie Shimada ran in Hakusensha's The Hana to Yume magazine. The manga ended on February 1.

Kenka Banchō Otome is itself a spinoff of Spike's larger Kenka Banchō action adventure video game franchise. Spike released the first game in June 2005, and the latest game, Kenka Banchō 6: Soul & Blood, shipped on the Nintendo 3DS in January 2015.
