posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The February 2019 issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Cune magazine revealed on Thursday that Girls' Last Tour (Shōjo Shūmatsu Ryokō) manga creator Tsukumizu will launch a new series titled Shimeji Simulation in the next issue. The March 2019 issue of Monthly Comic Cune will ship on January 26.
The announcement describes the manga as a "poetic and surreal heartwarming everyday 4-panel" series. The magazine's upcoming issue will bundle a Shimeji Simulation clear file, and the manga will also appear on the cover and have color opening pages.
Additionally, the Butsuri-san de Musō Shitetara Motemote ni Narimashita manga's Endo will launch the Sempai wa Kigae ga Dekinai series in the March issue.
Tsukumizu published the Girls' Last Tour manga digitally on Shinchosha's "Kurage Bunch" website and ended it on January 12. The sixth compiled book volume shipped on March 9. Yen Press licensed the original manga and is releasing it in English.
The manga inspired a 12-episode television anime series that premiered on October 6. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series, and streamed it on the now-defunct Anime Strike streaming service in the United States, and outside of the United States on HIDIVE. Sentai Filmworks will release the anime in a premium box set collection and a standard complete collection on January 29.
The manga also inspired a series of anime spinoff shorts titled Shōjo Shūmatsu Jugyō (Girls' Last Class) that also premiered on October 6.
