Muse Asia Streams Mushoku Tensei Anime's Unaired Episode

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Unaired episode focuses on Eris fighting goblins

Muse Asia added on the unaired side-story anime episode for the television anime of Rifujin na Magonote's Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series on Wednesday

The episode shipped with the anime's fourth Blu-ray Disc volume on Wednesday in Japan.

The episode's title is "Eris no Goblin Tōbatsu" (Eris Goes Goblin Slaying). The television anime's episode 16 showed the reunion of Rudeus and his father Paul when it aired on October 31. However, it did not show what Eris and Ruijerd did during that same time. The unaired side-story episode will show what happened on that day, as teased with a comment in episode 16 by Eris about getting rid of goblins.

The first part of the first season of the anime premiered on the Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, and BS11 channels in January 2021. The show's second part premiered in October 2021. Muse Asia streamed both parts in Southeast Asia as they aired in Japan, and Animax Asia began airing the anime on February 21.

The anime will have a second season.

Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both the light novel series and Yuka Fujikawa's manga adaptation. The company has also licensed Shōko Iwami's Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious (Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Datte Honki desu) spinoff manga. The company describes the main light novel series:

Just when an unemployed thirty-four-year-old otaku reaches a dead end in life and decides that it's time to turn over a new leaf—he gets run over by a truck and dies! Shockingly, he finds himself reborn into an infant's body in a strange new world of swords and magic.

His new identity is Rudeus Grayrat, but he still retains the memories of his previous life. Follow Rudeus from infancy to adulthood, as he struggles to redeem himself in a wondrous yet dangerous world.

Manabu Okamoto (Gamers!) directed the series at Studio Bind. EGG FIRM is also credited for production. Kazutaka Sugiyama (animation director for DARLING in the FRANXX) designed the characters. Yuiko Ōhara produced, wrote, scored, and sang both the opening theme song and the ending theme song for the first half of the series.
