Skip Beat! (TV) Masterpiece Most perfect shoujo anime I have ever seen. The protagonist is very unique and loveable and has you wishing for her success every step of the way. The romance is extremely cute as well. The anime, while stopping too soon, fully captured the manga and brought its essence to life.
Stellvia (TV) Excellent While Stellvia starts on shaky ground in terms of character and plot, as it progressed I found it to be a wonderful and originally cute story. What really grabbed me about Stellvia was its honesty. Honesty in that firstly, people are less than ideal--the characters are often annoyingly preoccupied with their own selfish pride--and that in spite of that, we can still move forward in life and in love. Stellvia is, like many anime, silly and unrealistic, but within its immaturity, you find a wonderful heartwarming story. You should also watch Stellvia if you're clamoring for great romance. Characters being too embarrassed to kiss is bullshit--the lack of realistic portrayal of teen romantic relationships is a failing point of most romance anime. A true romance is best judged by its kissing scenes, after all. Stellvia more than succeeds.
