First off I wasn't sure where to place this or if there is even a place this but somethings been bothering me the last couple days when entering this site and that is this particular ad;
Either I'm some kind of sick screwed up pervert or RightStuf was going for that whole "sex sells" approach. The position and angle of the girl with the snake type monster sticking out looks a little wrong. At first I couldn't put my finger on it. I felt something didn't look right in this page, and then I realized this ad. Does anyone actually look at these ads before they are placed on the website? Or does ANN figure since they've been good before, they can be trusted. I don't want to say I find this offensive, cause I don't I think it's funny, but I think those over-protective parents will trip over something like this. |

Well anmie girls are pretty much always like that and if those overprotective parents don’t like this there not going like most amines out there.

I saw the one with the tanned girl lying down in a pose - that one was an even clearer indication of using sexual content to sell merchandise.
I guess RightStuf decided to go with it since you can't purchase anything online unless you're 18 (or borrow mommy's creditcard). :) |

I don't just mean what she is wearing. But her body position overlapping the snake creature. The other little guy looks scared. I'd be scared too if one of those came out of girl.

I was scratching my head here but, hmm, you're apparently seeing a futanari-girl in that pic. Personally I don't see how people could get offended since the pose is not particularly suggestive, nor the effect apparent. The monster is just too wide for anybody to really think the admakers were going for a visual pun. BTW the characters are apparently from the Outlanders manga/anime. |

I see exactly what you mean joel_s95387. I couldn't put my finger on the problem but I knew there was something wrong there. It is that she looks like she has a blue dragon for a dick. Ha I am glad you pointed it out! I couldn't figure it out.

Well, the one that distracts me is the Funmation ad for DBZ. The flashing distracts me when I'm trying to read a thread or write a post/response. But, on the other hand, if it weren't for those ads, we wouldn't be able to use this forum!

The ad image has been bothering me too, but not in a way that the blue monster looks like any type of sexual attribute. When I viewed it out of the corner of my eye on the screen it always looked like her right leg was a blue monster with a gaping mouth where her foot should be. I suppose that is just a matter of perspective 'cause I don't see any reason why it intentionally looking like that would have any benefit from a sales standpoint.

I have exactly 5 comments on this:

Keep up the good work. 4. That's a poorly designed ad. But then, lots of them are. It sometimes seems as if nobody bothers to devote any effort to create really attractive ads for our market segment. I agree with you from 1 through 4, but number 5 is absolutely wrong.....
Thank you for saying what I was too scared to say. I was banned recently so I was thinking that I might get banned if I just straight out said it. I still have a question though. Do the people who posts these add look at them from our, or maybe I should speak for myself, my point of view? You know the dirty mided people. There are kids who enter these forums. I've seen a lot of posts that say "I don't watch Hentai cause I'm not old enough". And yeah that is a very lazy add... or did they act lazy to cover up their blue penis monster? |

Ha this place is full of so many kids it would be nice if there was an age requirement for certain topics/forums. Eh Joel? So you wouldn't have to be afraid to say whats on your mind. (i.e. so there would be no punishment for "bad language") Although truthfully I don't think Ann cares much about cursing as long as it is within context of the topic or not flaming. I don't watch hentai but that definately looks like a phallic symbol that character has between her legs. Ha! penis... But I like you for bringing this up Joel, it is a good topic, it is fun and quite entertaining. This actually reminds me of the original movie poster for the disney movie little mermaid. One of the artists drew a big penis in the background and no one caught it until way after many people had already seen it. Ha I love good old dick and fart jokes. |
