In 2016 with the storage of bluray disks, there really is no reason to not include the Japanese audio.

I'm really taking a liking to Morgana's dub. Fits perfectly fine.

So if the protagonist's VA is getting top billing and featured performer cred, I guess that means he's not going to be a silent protagonist like the last two games.
Cassandra Morris and Erika Harlacher are two of my favorite active VAs right now, so I'm happy to see them in the cast, too.

Cherami Leigh as best girl Makoto? I'm all kinds of down for that.

So the protagonist of Persona 5 will SETTLE IT IN SMASH?
I'll probably need another trailer that showcases the entire cast's voices just to get a better feel for them. It's promising so far.

If it weren't for the Japanese talent agencies cooking up insane contracts and/or simply preventing voices of certain actors/actresses from being heard outside of Japan, many English-audio-only titles would've been Dual audio by now.

True, there are a lot of politics involved. Plus what's funny is that Japanese audio doesnt' effect sales that much, even for a game like Persona.
Anyway, good cast for all the main characters with a lot of up and comers. I wasn't expecting Xander as the protagonist (or Norm as he calls him).

Pretty strong English cast to match the All-Star Japanese cast .
Can't wait to hear the rest of the cast and the English Dub of P5 .

Meh. I'll be waiting to hear how this goes because the quality of Atlus USA's Persona dubs have gotten worse lately IMO. All the spinoffs really started to get worse, starting with Arena.
I couldn't get into Golden because of the recasts of the original P4 cast. I'm not sure if it was Fitzgerald playing Chie way too close to Horie's or the really questionable change from the super-amazing Wittenberg Teddy to Riegel's. Arena 2 was when I basically stopped. The Naoto recast killed me. Didn't pick up Q because I'm not a big EO fan to begin with and didn't pick up DAN because that just felt like jumping the shark and unnecessary to me.
This seems like a really weird cast though so I'm slightly on edge I guess.

English dub only? Guess I'll play Persona 5 the same I did Persona 4, waiting for an emulator to play the 'undub' version. Either that or Atlus somehow releases this on Steam which doesn't seem very likely.

Personally i loved Erin Fitzgerald as Chie (one of the reasons I like the character so much) and I barely noticed the change between Wittenberg and Reigel (though I think Reigel captured Teddie's excited nature a bit more). Then again I watched the anime before playing the first game so I may have a bit of a bias.
I honestly don't know about Naoto though. Her VA seems to change on a whim in english. Her original VA (who was in P4, P4A, and P4G) is still a mystery that no one has solved, but I thought Mary Elizabeth McGlynn did a good job in the anime. As for Valerie Arem, I have no idea what she sounds like since I haven't played any of the games in which she took over.

Lynx, David Wittenberg is union only and Persona games are not union, so he CANNOT be in Persona whatsoever. He has that top tier status along with Troy Baker.
But whatever. Is voice acting in games REALLY needed? I can understand being pissed about sub-only anime (I watch all my anime in both languages, for reference's sake), but can you really compare the two?

Is the bad guy going to have the same voice actor as the Protagonist just like the last two games?

I thought Erin's Chie was a little too close to Horie's performance for my liking. The voice felt she was trying really hard to emulate Yui Horie's performance and didn't really make it her own, you know? I played the original PS2 game before any of the spinoffs even came out, including Golden, and I thought Rooney did a fantastic job. I think Erin's performance did greatly improve as the games went on though. I thought she was one of the best in Arena 2 and that's a game I felt had a lot of problems with the VA direction but she wasn't one of them.

Her original VA is a literal who and I don't know if anyone's ever found out because unlike everybody else, that's honestly the only role I've heard that voice in. McGlynn did a decent job, yeah. I don't know what happened with Valerie though; she's normally the voice director or does something related but she only played the role in Arena 2. I'm not sure if it was a last minute cast because the original VA couldn't make it but some of her lines sounded rough but not entirely bad.

Misssssssssing the point. Could you please read in between the lines? He did play Teddy in the original game, if you didn't know. He was ultimately replaced by Riegel come Arena (and Golden) for that exact same reason; because he joined the union between 08 and 2012. Does that mean I can't wish he could've come back because I liked his performance? No, it does not. It also doesn't mean I'm wrong.

In many cases, yes...particularly when it comes to console titles. Many 3D action-adventure titles would feel hollow with no voice-acting present. Plus, puzzle titles such as Puyo Pop Fever would get stale really fast if no voices were in it.
