I'm Tim from Perth, WA.
I'm 25, and have graduated from ECU doing computer science and now am working as a software engineer in the city. I'm a fairly hardcore otaku. I enjoy watching and reading raw anime and manga. I studied Japanese for the sole purpose of being able to watch anime and to become able to read the novels that the 12 Kingdoms anime was based on. I have a huge collection of Japanese only manga.. probably several hundred volumes and a large collection of light novels too. I am a bit of a figure otaku and have a huge collection of PVC anime figures. Currently I have 98 figures. (I never knew i had that many!) I'm currently interested in resin kits to build and paint my own figures (one completed so far) and have recently started sculpting one of my own. I enjoy importing and playing Japanese video games, and am currently playing White knight chronicles, Ryu ga gotoku and Tears to Tiara in Japanese on the PS3. Have been to Japan about 3 times so far and have obtained the highest level of proficiency in the JLPT Japanese Language proficiency test (Level 1). I write an anime blog in Japanese and English which I post in every once a week. I went to Waicon 2009 this year for the first time, and realized that Perth has quite a few passionate anime fans. So I figured it would be a great idea to start networking with some local fans. By the way, I went to the ANN panel at Waicon which is what let me to registering to the forum. If anyone is interested, please check out my blog: http://timkoh.info <- English version blog http://timkoh.info/jp <- Japanese version blog I'd like to hear from anyone who likes the same things I do. raptor-ani <-- you're hard core man. I dream of being as hard core as you. *hi-five*
Onwards from there. Yo, I'm April from Canberra, A.C.T. I'm 20 and an IT contractor with no qualifications *thumbs up* thankfully still employed. I love me some animes, and I try to get around to as many conventions as wallet and leave will allow. I'm currently collecting One Piece and D Gray-man manga and don't own enough manga, figurines or DVD's however my limited living space is already overflowing with it. My first love was Yu-Gi-Oh! and Fullmetal Alchemist. Currently I'm tracking(Manga and/or Anime) Tsubasa: Reservior Chronciles, xxxHolic, One Piece, Soul Eater and Hitman Reborn. I just finished watching Yakitate! Japan and have concluded that I am now thoroughly in love with anime's about making bread. Oh yeah, and I'm female but you probably would've guessed that at the start ^^; I'm hoping to spend a lot more time on these forums so look forward to seein' you round. 四月 btw ANN.au guys, I've got your RSS feeding my mobile, it's so sweet. Hopefully it counts to your hitcounter or something |

Oh hey I graduated from SCIS with a CompSci / Games Dev degree, and now i'm working there. Small world! Interesting blog aswell.
Go gainful employment, it always makes paying for a net bill better!
We have a hit counter? I kid, however we are trying hard to improve the size of our readership. The crew we have working here are extremely hardcore and are some of the best around.
You threw me for a loop there, I almost read your nick wrong. Can I just point out that it's bad to be a obsessive addict, balance things out. All of our crew does! I'm not quite as good, I balance things out with transformers >.>
Anime and Reptiles, can't say that's a odd balance... Have you tried GITS:SAC? Anyways, it's good to see so many more new people on here, please hang around! |

Hi my name is Rj, i am an owl n i fly around melbourne
I am a second year student pilot with swinburne and i guess the real reason why i joined is because i just broke up with my lady whom i still love very much but yeah... thats another story *is still incredibly regretful* ANYWAY! i am 19, have been watching anime on and off for the last few years (prior to that i loved dbz, transformers (still love pokemon...(i am an officer of "if you dont choose charmander when you play pokemon ur a filthy C#$%"...))) I play football (soccer) and i am now looking for a new anime as i just finished watching gundam 00 s1+2. I've liked the likes of code geass, clannad, FMP (not fumuffu!! GRRRR) and i believe the government hacked into my computer and is currently reading everything i write as i like pornography... FREE MEATSPIN! :P i did not read the privacy statement or whatever it was but im a good owl so thats ok :) i like to play COD and othercomputer orientated games (i have loved fps since the first wolfenstein) and im looking for a relatively new anime that conforms to the more... serious... type? i dont like dub and i only speak english and greek so that leaves subtitles :P but yeah I've watched evangelion and it was fair awesome and anything similar to that mecha feel or even assassin feel (my favourite word cause it has ass in it twice) and i like to type a lot at weird hours of the morning with my sick talons. i realise it may be a while before anyone posts but i do intend to participate and i will look at this "must have" section :) ) filakia, closet nerd owl |

Hello, my name is Andrew, I live in Sydney and I'm 36yo.
I just got back into anime thanks to Bakeneko, which I stumbled on by chance. In a long distant past (1992 or thereabouts) I was involved in the video game business, through which I was exposed to anime. My favourite anime is without doubt the Akira movie, I can happily watch it over and over to this very day. Other films I've enjoyed were Fist of the North Star, Wicked City & Ghost in the Shell (though at the time I was disappointed that it wasn't as good as the manga). Haven't watched much else since, other than a few eps of Samuari Champloo when it was screened on SBS, which I quite enjoyed. Currently I'm looking forward to getting hold of the Mononoke series as mentioned in that thread. cheers, Andrew |

Well the question should be "what addicted you in the first place"... Welcome!
Princess Mononoke is a single movie, I can't really comment on it more than that. But may I reccomend picking up the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series, it's fantastic. Oh and Cowboy Bebop. Good to see a older fan around these traps.
So you're training to fly planes at night around melbourne... right, well welcome! |

I believe plotoside may be referring to this series, which to my knowledge is completely unrelated to the Miyazaki film. |
