Having it licensed is awesome and all but now I have to wait a year or so for the discs instead of starting it in a week or two. Sad

It also reduces the series I was going to follow this season from a pathetic 4 to an even more pathetic 3.

What made you think they would have started releasing it in a week or two anyway? That would be almost impossible.

At least this way it will be streaming online, and and in high def.

I think they are referring to watching the fansubs as it airs. Many people once a show is licensed, opt to not watch it on fansubs, in favor of supporting an official release, same thing with manga being licensed as well. If it was still unlicensed when available as fansubs, they would have watched it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Even if you're right, the show will be streaming online. So I don't see what the problem is. You would still be supporting the official release by watching the official stream.

Wait, are they gonna dub the episodes as they come out like Bandai did for Kurokami? If so, this could be out a lot earlier than we think. You know, like a couple weeks after it finishes airing. That'd be sweet.

If it's online for free I might check this out.
they only mentioned the first episode for registered members at anime network, but it will probably be like Maid-sama! were the first is free and you have to be a subscriber to see the rest.

Hopefully they will use their normal 1-2-3+ method (free, registered, premium/holidays) instead. Only one episode isn't always enough to make a purchase decision.

The thing is about the streaming, TAN only has one episode usually for free and to see the rest you have to subscribe, which would be about 15 bucks to see all of High School for the Dead.

I doubt that would be the case. If so, the probably would have announced that with the press release. Though you never know. They could be planning it a surprise.

At best, I would hope they do like Le Chevalier Deon and dub as it's being produced and aired in Japan, so they can have a quick DVD turn around time.

As for the subscription, it's hard to say. You will definitely have to register with the site, but usually at least the firs two are free. All of Demon King was free to registered members, but that was also streaming on Crunchyroll. No one is sure how they are proceeding with this one, and they may be still deciding themselves.

I'm actually surprised, 'cus I wasn't even aware they had a panel. Hell, I just passed by S23's/ADV's booth and barely knew it, except for DLW being there.

I forgot about that, maybe they didn't think about that either, or don't have a subscription for Anime Network? Eh, who knows.

If they have it on The Anime Network does that mean they'll have it on their On Demand channel as well?

Probably not. I'm sure they would love to do it, but their On Demand scheduled has to planned quite a bit in advance, so this can be hard to pull off. I would love it if they could someday find a way to do it though.
Does the capability for such even exist yet?
