I'm hoping this will be awesome from the beginning till the end, unlike Oreimo... |
Unlikely.

S*itty comments from the usual suspects aside, I am interested in this (the plot sounds decent). Hopefully it gets the Oreimo treatment and will also receive an Anime adaptation.

It's amazing how incestuous the entire industry is. And I don't mean the little sister incest fetish, I mean how they endlessly recycle and concentrate the same crap.

I would really hate to be Fushimi's younger sister right about now.

I had hope for oreimo really truly did but I just get laughed at for even stating that. Alot of most did as well due in part that he did wrote some very decent side/main characters such as saori, ayase, kuroneko/ruri.
It also seems that little sister are still the big thing right now but it's not shocking to me anymore because of how much it's been used. In all honesty I think YNS did it the best along with aki sora, because of how the relationships where portrayed in the series.

Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai was awesome.
I got exactly what I wanted out of it, and I find people's grousing about Fushimi's writing hilarious. The sheer number of people he was able to draw into a setting and a scenario that were not something they'd typically touch with a twelve foot pole stands as solid testament to his abilities as a writer, and all the post-op criticism strikes me as just so much sour grapes over sunk ships and incest endings.
Also, for the record, little sister anime has been a thing since at least 1999 with Sister Princess and Da Capo. It's just now it has become a staple.

This is what I'd call a one-trick pony.

You're not the only one, actually. I think there were a decent number of people at least who really liked Ruri/Kuroneko and though/hoped that she was the route the author was going to go.

It did end exactly as you said. Did we watch the same ending? The kiss on the cheek and the quote "we will be discussing this at home" was confirmed by the author as their relationship contonuing. He couldn't spell it out better due to publishong. |
Sorry, but I base my conclusions from what I saw in episode 16 of the anime, and I am pretty sure Kirino and Kyousuke did not end up as a romantic couple, unless there is another episode that I have not watched.
If you are referring to something the author published after the anime concluded, I cannot count that as part of the anime story.

Reminds me of the time it occurred to me to wonder if Shinkai secretly wishes his wife lived somewhere far, far away.

I don't know if this could sound worse if he actually tried to make it the worst possible thing.
