Personally i'm a Bernie guy, and before that i was a Obama voter, and before that a Kerry voter.
My family's voter D since the FDR. Given the GOP's general stance on digital rights. I don't see how many young people would even consider going with them as they seem as lost in a older time like the rest of the GOP's policies. |

They are not a significant demographic at all, he's just mad that his party's most popular candidate is that idiot Trump and is trying to find a scapegoat in anime fans. |

I kind of doubt they do. Seemed more like he was just trying to insult Trump supporters. He and other Republicans should be careful about that (talking in general, not just about this guy's anime comment). While they do want Trump to lose the primary, they still need his supporters to actually show up to vote Republican in the general election. I believe he's given us a window into his thinking ( such little as their appears to be ) on the subject of the value of the votes of the people he classified as "otaku". As I said insulting a group of voters wasn't a good idea, but Mr. Wilson is probably having a bad day/month/year/life. Politics in the USA are always amusing. I've always found Trump to be an arrogant ass but I won't deny he's a good business person.
This, on the other hand, says a lot about this guy's personality. "Let's insult a completely unrelated group just for the sake of it!" Worst kind of person IMO. |

Hey, that`s not cool.
Isn`t politics supposed to be formal and mature. But then again we haven`t seen that since Year 1. |

Sounds like someone is doing Google searches and referencing popular internet terms to create buzz and foster public support for misguided and poorly planned political machinations...
And someone tell that jackass Trump that we DO propagate, only through very rigorous and complex mating rituals that repeat on a lunar cycle in a secret location that is known only to insiders. Ladies, I'll be in my trailer, until then. |

He probably mentions us because, from what I've heard, these White Nationalist types have taken to using anime avatars on Twitter. Since the only the people who use anime avatars those political operative types have seen are those Alt right types, they automatically equate anime with anti establishment right wingers. I mean you could probably find such types, but they are far from the majority in the community. Of those who are political, Bernie Sanders is probably the anti establishment candidate of choice but the political views of the community are just as varied as the country itself, though the exact composition is probably different from the country at large or even within the same age group. As far as I know, most Trump supporters are middle aged, lower education, white men not childless, single anime watchers. |

Personally, I would question that he is a good businessman too, what with all the bankruptcies. If he had invested his money in a low fee index fund (basically it is like investing in the stock market indexes) instead of his business, he would have way, way more money, though I guess it's for the best he didn't. If Trump was not Trump and handled his money like that, Trump would have fired himself. |

I literally cried while watching this happen. I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life. It was gold!
What you're saying is anecdotal evidence and doesn't hold really any weight. It's funny you try to combat the data with this remark though, because that very article basically makes fun of you for even trying to make it. Go back and read the article. |

Trump's campaign is about, "Making America great again;" Rick Wilson implies that most of Trump's supporters are consuming foreign content. Is this his way to use the No true Scotman fallacy? Nah... I'm probably giving him too much credit.

This: Apart from us good folk who watch the series ( ![]() The comment was clearly aimed against Trump's Muslim and Mexican-baiting appealing to the White Nationalists, but as seen through the perspective of digging up the online Alt-right tweets and reacting "Huh? Who's that avatar?" "Oh, it's one of those things the college kids watch late-nite on CN; the Skinheads must probably be all into it, too..." |

seems unlikely that anime viewers would be interested in any of the nonsense republicans have to say.
