I know i might get flack for this but yeah, this censorship was pretty lazy but i still wouldn't mind watching it this way if this show ever got licensed and released in the states, i just don't feel comfortable seeing nudity in these types of action shows but that's just me.

GREAT choice to air on commercial broadcast television, a gory sexploitation OVA. What's next, Guy?

I actually did think I was looking at an image that didn't load all the way when I saw the thumbnail. Priceless censorship.

When did bathing become taboo on Japanese TV?

Why couldn't they just put black bars over her tits and vaginal area instead of just blackening out the whole thing? At least then you could see what she's doing and it won't look like loading images on Windows 98. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, that's what it looked like to me at first too. Every image here has loaded just fine for me so far, so it was weird to see one having a problem.

How lazy do you have to be to not give that much of a crap? The mind boggles. It wouldn't even be that much harder to do two individual black bars.

Hopefully this means a BluRay version coming sometime in the near future.

I still have my two laserdisc set from Japan. Iczer-One Special Version. Listed price was 14,800 Yen, in today's conversion it comes to 131 dollars. No subtitles, so it was kind of hard to understand the plot entirely, but there was no problem with the action. Wasn't until years later that I saw a subtitle version.

Great OVA, and for us at the time, this is what anime was all about.

Even if it is the 30th anniversary, why are you even going to show it, if you have to censor it. I can just imagine what they would do with Gallforce if they tried showing it on TV today.

Ditto. I'd even settle for a re-release of the R1 DVD, which is currently OOP.

I see that the censors took inspiration from Adult Swim's broadcast of The Room.

I'll wager a guess that the broadcaster didn't really know what they were getting and didn't have much time and/or resources to to a pretty job before go time and rather than not run it, did... well, this.

Except in that case everyone was eternally thankful that we didn't have to watch Tommy Wiseau's naked ass. Razz

I got a VHS of it's sequel Iczelion I could hook you up with.

I was thinking this title looked familiar, so I had to go look in the "old" video library, nope I didn't have it, but I did find the Iczelion VHS.

I bet the same thing would happen if Gunbuster aired in this channel.
