I've brought very little anime...but when I do I spend a larger amount of money.
In one go I brought five Ghibli films, another occasion all six of the Excel saga DVDS, as well as another occasion Akira/GiTS/Ninja scrolls collection Usually spend about £20 each time. |

It would have been nice if there was another option. Though I forget what I was going to say.
I usually buy DVDs 2-5 at a time. If things are on bargain sale I'll buy as much as I can get and worry about the total later. The most I'll spend for anime or domestic DVDs is anywhere from $100-$200+. I bought a bunch of DVDs a few months ago that consisted of some cheap deals and the entire R.O.D TV set. But on a tight budget I can only do at most 2-5 DVDs every other month. If I didn't have to worry about putting money away for trips visiting my nieces and nephews, and paying bills or buying birthday and Xmas gifts I'd buy as many DVDs that $400 a month could get me.

Mine habits generally between 2 and 3 normally to get free shipping from Rightstuf, so I guess I'll go with three dvds.

Not more than two (I think that probably happened only twice) an usually just one, but I started buying, more or less recently, things on the Internet and since it takes time for the transaction to take place (too young for a credit card you see) and for the item to be shipped, I will probably buy more Dvds at the time and more often. I love the Web!

Now that I'm thinking about it, it's kind of intresting, when you have more money you can afford to get great deals like the 25 for $100 that TRSI has done, but when you don't have money you can only buy one $30 dvd. Which while it's less at the time you are spending way more over time.
When I order online I do huge orders I did the 25 for $100 both times and I've order a lot of dvds when ADV has their own DVD sales. In fact I don't buy many anime dvds in a brick and morter store that often anymore, unless it's something I want right away. |

I usually buy 2-3 DVD's at a time. If there is a sale then I might buy more than 4, but otherwise I don't like to spend a whole lot at once.

Recently, I've dropped my purchases down to 1, maybe 2, per month on average, given the lack of a job from January to early May. I'm hoping like there's no tomorrow for the Deep Discount sale, so I can max out what I'm putting aside for purchases this summer. Prior to that, I held down a job while attending classes at the local community college, and I ended up buying about 6-10 discs a month.

It really depends. I tend to order a couple of DVDs each week to fill in the gaps while waiting for studio sales. Because of this I haven't bought that many DVDs recently since I preordered all of of my Bandai and Geneon titles that arrived this month back in March. This last week the only DVD I preordered was Bleach 4 (the last Viz sale was back in January) since everything else being released in the next week was covered during various TRSI sales. On May the 4th however I ordered:

This was a particularly busy week listed above since two major companies had back to back TRSI sales. Normally these deals are spaced out a bit more evenly. So I won't be ordering any Funi or ADV titles for a few months at this point, but will need to order individual Bandai titles soon since the last TRSI Bandai sale only went to June preorders. Fortunately TRSI's Geneon sale from March has me set until September since I'm following more Geneon titles (19 DVDs preordered and a few catalog titles too compared to the 13 "new" releases from Funi this month) than any other company at the moment. I ended up answering 10+, although I do often buy a few stray DVDs every week since there is usually a couple month gap between the preorders from a sale and the next sale. Some companies like Manga Entertainment will announce DVDs well in advance and I actually purchased Karas 2, Tactics 5, Noein 4, and Tokko 2 back in August and haven't ordered anything from them since! Other companies like Bandai only give a three month heads up so I end up buying many individual released DVDs between sales. |
