It kinda matters on this site. If someone is going to post a spoiler, he/she HAS to use spoiler tags. Doesn't matter if the show is over or not.

The way I heard it put, this Yotsuba Arc is partly to show us that Light isn't pure evil, that he can be good if circumstances were different. That in itself adds more complexity to Light's character. Plus I just love all things about L, it's fun seeing how he gets along with Light. He tolerates him and works with him, but he's still a bit apprehensive. It's a fun arc.

I have to largely agree. While I liked the Yotsuba arc (and thought Matsuda was a good episode), the show definitely started to go downhill, and never got back up to the quality of the early episodes. I thought I might've just been getting sick of the series, but after rewatching episode 1 last week on AS, I pretty much confirmed it.
