I'll snag this open turn with an easy quote.
A: Let's hear it.
B: It's a complicated story.
A: Just say it.
B: You see... I'm really hungry.
A: So?
B: That's all.
A: That's all?
B: That's all.

That's Ayu Tsukimiya speaking to Yuichi Aizawa in the first episode of Kanon, if I'm not mistaken.

Wait, did 4750G confirm your answer through PM or something? I don't see it.

Urgh, I appear to have jumped the gun here. Sorry about that. Night shifts can do strange things to a man's mind.

I'm sorry to hear that Fifth B, but on the bright side, you are correct.

My brain was just not working right today, but at least I was right. It would have made me like an even bigger tool if I had been wrong and assumed I was right. If I'm online in time, there's not much chance of a Kanon quote getting by me, if I do say so myself, so I must have just gotten ahead of myself there.
Alright, from the dub
A: She's with her brother and sister? What of her foster parents? Where are they?
B: I'm told their mother fell sick and passed away from her illness several years ago. As for their father, he lost his life in a heroic battle against assassins who were attempting to kill [C's title].
A: Surely that child must be cursing her fate. She must be utterly miserable.
B: No, highness, it was quite the opposite when I first saw her. She seemed very cheerful and openhearted.
A: I see.

And quotes from this series aren't going to get past me if I'm online at the time. This is Chris Armalite (B) talking to the Queen (A) about Pacifica (C - title is the series' name) in Scrapped Princess. I don't remember exactly where in the series this happens, but it's when Chris goes to see the Queen after his big battle with Shannon over Winia.

I had another quote that I was going to use, but this one so struck my fancy when I saw it yesterday that it jumped to the top of the heap. From the subs:
“Dad. . .Mom. . . Thank you for everything. [Older] Sis. . . Even in the afterlife, I won’t forget that you ate my flan.”
(Note: I inserted "older" because the Japanese dub specifically says "Onee-chan" at that point but it's not reflected in the subtitles.)

Somewhat belated. . . .
Hint #1: The nickname for the location where this takes place is also the title of the source series.

Hint #2: The speaker, who is friend of a friend to one of the two main protagonists, has a bad habit of getting stuck in exceedingly dangerous situations throughout the series, but this one she actually volunteered for.

Kozue from Occult Academy, when she volunteers to do an experiment involving near death experiences. She says this as the experiment starts.
Incidentally, the crunchyroll subtitles are a bit different. When I was checking to verify I had the right context, I saw that they were: "Dad... Mom... Thank you for everything. Big Sis... Even in the afterlife, I won't forget what you did with my pudding."
Perhaps that's why I had such a hard time recognizing the quote at first. Though I didn't get either of the two previous quotes either, despite both being from series I've seen and enjoyed and knowing that I had heard them somewhere before.

Mad_Scientist is exactly correct.
The version I used is from the official NISA release (which I'm currently in the process of reviewing - and my, it's a nice-looking boxed set). It would seem to indicate that they did their own subtitling rather than just using Crunchyroll's.
