Hey, if they're picking up Bund, they may as well snap up Seikon no Qwaser, too. The uncensored version, of course. Twisted Evil

I'm just surprised that people are surprised at Bund's license. I mean, Funimation already covered the little-girl-vampire bit before with MoonPhase. So is it really so shocking?

I'll probably check it out, sounds kinda cool.

"artistically" nude "Really Seven Hundred Years Old" lolis are leagues away from the.. stuff... in Qwaser which has Media Blasters written all over it.

The problem I've had with Bund is pacing. I've not read the manga and it seems the Anime assumes you have. I say 'seems' because there are large jumps in logic and action. More than once I've felt I must have missed something in between scenes. Maybe the manga is the same way, I don't know.

At least now I can stop watching the fansubs and watch my vampire loli, but not REALLY loli cause she's an ancient vampire queen, legally. Whew, an odd statement there.

I really enjoy reading Dance in the Vampire Bund. I can't wait to see a few eps.

Moon Phase is a whole different kettle of fish from Bund. Moon Phase is very innocent (despite one, "oops, I tripped and ended up sitting on your face" moment) whereas the Mina character is clearly sexualized. I am a little surprised that an American company like Funimation would take the chance of adverse publicity by licensing it. I can imagine some Bible Belt politician trying to make some political hay out of what he or she would no doubt label kiddie porn.

I'm curious, after the horrid verdict of the Handley case, how is Funi going to handle the nudity/sexuality of an underage looking (she is a vampire so she's over 18, honest!) character. I imagine we'll be getting lots of mysterious steam and strange edits...

It states in the manga and implicitly in the anime that she's over 1000 years old, but takes on the form of a child. Mina's loli form is not her true vampire form.

Considering they had Strike Witches uncensored, Dance in the Vampire Bund will probably uncensored, let alone a lesser problem assuming they take the remastered versions when they're released on Blu-Ray in Japan.

I'm not surprised by the fact that Dance in the Vampire Bund was picked up since the manga has already been long brought over, but I am more surprised at Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu (best series of the season btw) and Funimation picking up a new SHAFT work. Pity though that all the ones Funi picks up seems to be the worst ones....

It would have to be the uncensored version. The only thing the show really has going for it is the titillation. But I'm not sure if fans are ready for the voices of Haruhi and Yuki enjoying the sharing of mana...or...maybe they are. Laughing

I'm so excited about Baka to Test!! But I definitely would have preferred the name Idiots and Tests and Summoned Beings if they were going to have a name change at all. Leaving "Baka" untranslated is sort of weird. Well, I will buy it anyway, because it is one of the funniest anime I've seen in a while. Hopefully the Funimation subs will not try too literal of a translation.

As for Vampire Bund... I can't really say I'm excited, but then again I only watched the first episode, so maybe I should give it another chance.

Oh, there was more than that. The fetishy fashion show, the hot springs, and the scene where she spoiler[tackles Kohei and the neko-mimi goes flying off, looking incredibly like a bra.] I agree that this isn't surprising; I mean, Moonphase = SHAFT(Vampires + little girl). Vampire Bund = SHAFT(Vampires + little girl). Honestly, I saw it as inevitable.

Two words: 1) Strike 2) Witches. I rest my case. Razz

And getting absolutely nowhere with it as been the case with just about everything those people try and attack. Unless Mina is depicted in blatant and explicit sexual acts (I've only seen about 4 or 5 eps of it, but doubt that she ever is), then the complainers will just come off as prudes to the rest of masses. And if they are a Bible Belt type, then that's a double negative to their claims.

I've heard plenty of good things about Baka and I'm very excited to be able to see it with a dub. However...

The title is something to be desired and like this one a lot better. Other than that I'm very excited.

Bund doesn't really intrigue me. Nothing against loli, but it's not exactly a draw in for me. Maybe after a trailer and a favorable review from Theron if he gets it, I'll give it some consideration.

Seems they're not going to be able to win here. Already people are saying they're set to complain if the translation is too literal, and we know that people are going to complain if they take liberties in their localization. It's pretty tiresome.

I'm more happy to see they licensed Baka to Test than Vampire Bund. The latter is just a poor attempt considering the source material. I can handle some deviations, but the pacing they set with the first couple of eps just turned me off entirely from it.

Um... why simulcast two series that only have four episodes left?
