How exciting!

Though the actual announcement was predictable from a few weeks ago as there were plenty of hints:

*10th anniversary
*New LN series
*Anime is used to boost LN sales, etc.

The only thing that actually surprised me was that they announced it now instead of closer to the anniversary/LN release date. Though I guess its close enough to that.

Very exciting news. I am a big fan of the first Durarara!! anime. I hope the new series is as good. I also would like it to be two cours.

I one-hundred percent did not expect this, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm glad they got the same director and screenplay writer back for this. Gotta say though, not having read the manga or novels, I can only hope that Celty ditched her super creepy boyfriend, even though the first half was one of my favorite arcs of anime ever.

Will it actually feature Celty, the show's namesake, or just being about that boring asshole, Kida? The second half of the first season wore so thin on me because I couldn't not muster a single feeling of care for that character or basically his entire gang.

About time, I expected this sooner.

Baccano wasn't really popular though. Durarara was. Doubt it'll get any more episodes.

I love Durarara!! But not Aniplex pricing, but I'll have to save up for it, after I get a PS4.

This where the term "cour" comes in handy. Never any doubt as to what it refers to.

Too bad whoever decided to use it got it backwards.

A "season" lasts an arbitrary amount of time.

A "cour" lasts a season.

Our language is ridiculous. Rolling Eyes

So, I know I'm echoing the question already asked but: Will Celty be in this? 'because the other characters range from okay to meh. (And Baccano was better)

Durarara does not come from the sound the bike makes, it's a nonsense title that Narita came up with.
And that's just your opinion anyway, i loved the second half.(also, you're not supposed to care for his gang)

Whenever I have seen "cour" used in conjunction with anime, it has always referred to a quarter of a year.

The usage of "season" in regards to TV has been more nebulous.
