Now, if Discotek offered streams for all their anime but under a monthly price, then I could join in the fun nostalgic fun. I prefer subscription-based streams (at times non-subscribing third party sites) to watch my anime so I don't drain my bank account buying boxsets.

You could always wait and see if Crunchyroll gets the streaming license. I don't think Discotek is going into streaming themselves.
