I would second Hisoka of Hunter x Hunter. He's got a different kind of evilness, more sick than anything.
**Aren't we supposed to give reasons for this sort of thing instead of just listing them? I could bring wrong, but I think that is how PantsGoblin did it. It also allows the thread to confirm with forum rules. |

Well, in theory, the most evil anime character would have to be The Idea of Evil from Berserk. Considering that it is, well, the incarnation of evil...

Mmm, interesting point. I would probably consider Griffith to be evil on most counts. I mean, yes, maybe it isn't really due to him. I see the whole eclipse sequence to be one of the most brutal and surprising parts of any anime and spoiler[ after spending so much time building up the camaraderie and friendship surrounding it, the actual events of the eclipse are truly horrific and due to Griffith (although that is just his desperation, or on a grander scale, the inevitability of causation.)] But as a personal reaction to what happens, Griffith is a truly evil character. Especially if you only watch the anime rather than read what happens later in the manga. |

while he is a villian, i never really considered him that evil of a character. he didn't do anything really evil besides spoiler[killing Mao. the elders had it coming.]. also it seems kinda cliche at this point. |

I have more ideas popping in my head! Wait there gone...wait i got em again!
Frieza, Cell, Dr. Gero, and Kid Buu- DBZ Gilgamesh- Fate/Stay Night Fisher Hollow- Bleach Bah! Those are the only ones I can come up with. Let me look back at what I have seen and I will post more. Please disregard the statement about the battle royale in my previous post. Instead I propose that ANN should have a poll on the homepage that people can vote. Have a tournament set up with brackets set up. No seeding. Pairs are set up randomly. Then each day, we can vote for new matches. Each poll has 18 hours to accept votes. After that, the winner of the poll moves on to the next round. No byes. Everyone starts on the first round. This thread should indicate what chars should be included. I think this way it will be fair for everyone to see their favs go in. If people want to lobby for their fav char for each poll, they should do so by making threads to get their point across. If these threads have no basis to them, then they should be deleted or locked by the moderators because they would be swamped with new threads all the time so back up your support with why your char should be voted. This is all a proposition however. It does not have to be taken seriously. I just think it would be cool if we had this on the site. |

Well, it's all subjective to the nominator then to the voter. If the character Vicious goes up against is worse than he his, then that character will get my vote. Everyone has different opionions on what is evil/good/sad/ugly. Yes, the people you mentioned had it coming but Vicious also did things to Spike that I didn't like therefore, in my humble opinion, Vicious is evil. |

Hmm.... this is harder than I'd have thought. In an attempt to only nominate those I think stand a chance at making it to the final round, I eliminated nearly everyone on my list. Here's the people I have left:
-Nina's father from FMA (can't remember his name) -Tenzen from Basilisk -Patrick Zala from Gundam SEED -Gilbert Durandal from Gundam SEED Destiny -Lord Djbril from Gundam SEED Destiny -Johann from Monster (I don't know if I'd say he should win... but he could certainly go far) -The Japanese Government from Saikano (What? Not a valid candidate? aww... but they'd probably win!  If you can call it "winning" in a contest of evilness)
-Akai and Kanie of Kite (LydiaDianne reminded me on this one) -Orochimaru from Naruto (though I hate to admit it... he fits quite nicely on this list) -Aizen from Bleach (he actually fits on here quite nicely too with what I know of Bleach) That's really it from what I've seen and can remember for the really strong characters without even half-assed redeeming qualities or justifications for their actions. These are evil people (and although Johan is very understandable in many ways, which would normally knock him off my list, I just can't think of him as anything but evil incarnate). EDIT: I'd rather participate in a small (and thus shorter in time length) contest with all strong characters that I would/should know of, than one with 1024 chars I've probably never heard of, especially when some of their worse offences were basically just being the antagonist. |
