I'm going to make a wild guess and say that you're a good bit over 30. Not many people read A.E. van Vogt these days. It takes an oldschool SF fan to list Slan as a favourite.

Name: Kevin
Age: 17
Pets: None
Ethnicity: Cantonese Chinese
Marital Status: Single
Religion: Christian
Drink or Smoke: Neither. Can't stand the taste of beer and wine out of the ones I've sampled, and I just don't like smoking. It's not healthy, after all.
Favorite Food/Drink: For food, it's dried bean curd sheets. It tastes greater than it sounds, depending on how you add flavour to it. Smile As for drinks, I love grape soda and apple juice.
Favorite Games: The Dynasty Warriors games, the Soul Calibur games, the Ratchet and Clank games, and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Favorite Bands/Music Artists: Kotoko, High and Mighty Color, UVERworld, Billy Talent
Favorite Anime: Pokémon. I kid you not. I love Pokémon as much as Japanese kids love Doraemon (apparantly). it's my absolute favourite.

Other favourites are Witch Hunter Robin, Please Teacher!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Shuffle!, Bleach, Trinity Blood, Paradise Kiss, Rumbling Hearts/Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, School Rumble, and Yakitate!! Japan.
Favorite Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Shrek movies, the American Pie series, Eurotrip, 5 Centimeters Per Second
Favorite Manga: I"s, Love Hina, Genshiken, School Rumble, Black Cat, Paradise Kiss, Monster, Ichigo 100%, and Dragon Head
Favorite Manga Authors: Ken Akamatsu, Ai Yazawa
Favorite Type of Manga: Comedy, Romance, and Drama, Any combination of the three are fun too. I also enjoy action/adventure genre.
Favorite Books/Comics: For books, Eleanor Rigby and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For comics, I love my Garfield and Charlie Brown.
Favorite Non-Manga Authors: Douglas Coupland
Favorite Bookstore/Website To Buy From: select anime/manga shops in the area/GTA.
Favorite Place to Read: Doesn't really matter, though I do enjoy reading on a beanbag chair.
When Did You Start Reading Manga/Books: Almost 2 years ago. My curiosity as to how the Love Hina anime and manga were different lead me into the world of manga.
Worst Manga/Book You've Read: Don't have one. I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to these things, so I can always find something enjoyable out of what I read.
Other Hobbies: Watching anime, video games, hanging out with friends, playing select sports
Pet Peeves: Lies with bad intent, second-hand smoke, and other things that I can't think of at the moment.

I have a pic of myself in the anime introduction page. I might link it here when I have the time.

Wasn't Koopa the fastest character in that game?

Nope! It depends on your definition of "fast" is....Bowser and Donkey Kong had the highest top speeds but the slowest acceleration, the Princess and Yoshi had the highest acceleration but the lowest top speeds. Koopa and Toad were basically the middle of the road on everything, but had the best cornering, but Mario and Luigi sacrificed a bit of cornering for slightly better speed stats.

Me, play Mario Kart too much? Why, what gives you that idea?! Razz

Whenever I played it when I was younger, Koopa was the fastest I found. Haven't played it in like ten years but I remember my friends and I faught over Koopa.

I did most of this in the Meet ANN-Anime thread, but I'll do it here, too, although I'm not here as much.

Name: kyokun703
Age: 30s
Pets: None, although I wish I had a house so I could have a medium-sized dog. I love dogs so much.
Ethnicity: Japanese American, 4th generation.
Marital Status: Single
Religion: Very very agnostic (but hey, you never know)
Drink or Smoke: Love beer. Wine's pretty good, as long as it's not too dry. Hard alcohol can taste good, but it also makes me the sickest fastest. Worst drink I ever had was orange vodka and wine. I hate my friend for even thinking that might be okay (I was still relatively new to drinking then). No smoking.
Favorite Food/Drink: I don't really have a favorite food, 'cause I absolutely love food. Usually I tend to like carby things, and ethnic, spicy things.
Favorite Games: World of Warcraft, Settlers of Catan, any type of spelling game
Favorite Bands/Music Artists: A little bit of everything. Um... Goldfrapp, Franz Ferdinand... Daft Punk, Linkin Park... hard rock, alternative, modern rock from the late 80s/early 90s. I'm really sleepy right now and not thinking clearly from staying up to watch the Harry Potter midnight movie.
Favorite Anime: Princess Tutu, RahXephon, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Fruits Basket, Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto and Bleach (sans filler), Yakitate!! Japan, Ouran High School
Favorite Movies: Searching for Bobby Fisher, Shawshank Redemption, Fried Green Tomatoes, Kung Fu Hustle, Clueless
Favorite Manga: Hana Kimi, Fruits Basket, Bleach, Naruto, Yakitate!! Japan, Ouran High School, Yotsubato, Paradise Kiss
Favorite Manga Authors: Don't really have any
Favorite Type of Manga: Action, Romance, Drama, Comedy
Favorite Books/Comics: Good Omens, Last Herald Mage Trilogy, Tam Lin (by Pamela Dean), Stephanie Plum series, Women of the Otherworld series, Just Listen (by Sarah Dessen), Memory and Dream (by Charles de Lint), Phedre series (by Jacqueline Carey), Runaways comic, Buffy Season 8 comic, Age of Apocalypse comics (alternative X-men world)
Favorite Non-Manga Authors: Terry Pratchett, Janet Evanovich, Sarah Dessen, Charles de Lint
Favorite Bookstore/Website To Buy From: amazon (I have it linked up so that my purchases give a percentage to pflag)
Favorite Place to Read: Lunch time in the break room, my bed before I go to sleep
When Did You Start Reading Manga/Books: I don't remember when I started reading manga. It was a slow start. It's kind of reached the explosion stages now. My mom says I taught myself how to read at 3, and I've been reading ever since. I remember checking out piles and piles of books at the library.
Worst Manga/Book You've Read: Real Bout High School for manga. I don't remember reading a book I absolutely hated. If I did, I would've stopped reading it.
Other Hobbies: Anime, reading non-manga, World of Warcraft, hanging out with friends
Pet Peeves: Homophobia, people who talk on the cell phones too loudly, or try to drive while talking and it's obvious they can't, girls who have like 3" of thong sticking out above their pants/skirt, poor hygiene (especially irritating at conventions), our president, and other extreme fundamentalist religion nuts (not religion in general)

Picture is in the other thread.

Pet Peeves: Bad driving, bad grammar, bad habits, and bad posture. Far too many other things bother me that it would take ages to put it all on paper (or the internet)
Other Hobbies: Obviously, I collect video games and manga. I like to think I have a pretty decent collection. I’m a self-professed Nintendo fan-whore. Ha ha, you'd actually be quite off, I was raised by hardcore sci-fi fans and Van Vogt was like Scripture in my house, along with Asimov and Heinlein.

You mean "she" said, right? Razz Never heard of that series before now, but I've got to say the premise sounds fairly interesting. It at least takes the generic Hana Kimi-esque cross-dressing high school student story in a bizarre new direction. Sorry to hear it's apparently not very good, though. Sad
