I actually got about the same impression from your review; what you wrote did come across as condoning it. Although I agree it was wrong of the other poster to make personal comments as he/she did, I do see where they're coming from with their original comments. Should I also be given a warning for this? Perhaps we can make a list of people who disagree with you, to be chewed out and threatened with a ban. |

I challenge you to find a single sentence or sentence fragment in that review that says the girls were justified in their bullying or harassment in any way whatsoever. You can't because it doesn't exist, but in case it wasn't clear enough for some of you, I'll say it again. No, of course I in no way condone the horrible behavior of anybody in that terrible anime, neither the "hero" or the villains. I thought my review was pretty crystal clear on that count, but if you need me to restate it again, I have. I have also never banned or moderated a person because they disagreed with me on these forums. I do ban or moderate people who break the rules, one of which protects staff members and posters alike against personal attacks, which I specifically said is what I was warning him about. He knows I have a sister. Invoking that personal detail on top of a deliberate misrepresentation of what I said was extremely inappropriate. You can "get" whatever "impression" you want to based on feelings you pulled out of thin air, but there is zero evidence in my review of me condoning abuse or harassment from any character at all. Lord have mercy, the spin of it all. |

Yes, especially the ones who wrote and edited articles about its announcement, production, airdates, etc. They really dropped the ball there. Minds like sieves, it seems. The actual answer is that it hasn't been legally streamed and therefore is not suitable to be covered in a preview at this stage. |

Watched the first episode of Plastic Memories. Meh. It was basically like a low-rent Black Bullet, human guy, weird loli sidekick with pitiable backstory, but it wasn't nearly as well executed and didn't have the action to carry it. It had a few solid humorous moments, but not enough, and their pleas for emotion were a bit too hamfisted. I mean, I tend to tear up on these shows when they've earned it, I'm a real sucker for the feels, but the last scene got me closer to laughter than tears with how hard they were trying. I'm surprised that they didn't mail out onions to the viewers (maybe in Japan?). Also, it's a nitpick, but the constant white highlight outlines bothered me. They worked in Engaged to the Unidentified because that was a more simplistic and cartoon style, but just seemed cheap here when laid against the other elements.

Oh man, I'm so out of touch with modern fandom. There is nothing in Ultimate Otaku Teacher that is remotely offending. Are people upset when the villains of the story end up getting their comeuppance ? Do you cry for the animals in La Fontaine's fables when they get what they deserve for their foolish actions ? Otaku Teacher provided a valuable lesson to the jerk trio. One they won't forget. I'd say he's a pretty good teacher all in all. This series is definitely a keeper. I'll watch it. The first episode was much more interesting and funny than Plastic memories (which reminds me of emotional porn so typical of Steven Spielberg) or Food Wars. |

Arslan Seki: 2,5/5 Not impressed. It feels too much of a basic and typical story, at least for today's standards, so all the obvious foreshadowing dialogue (especially the last dialogue) felt too eye-rolling. Which is fine if the execution and investment carries it, but wasn't a fan of it either. Arslan's characterization also could be much better, I know he's very innocent but he doesn't feel a shrink of fear or caution or concern by the slaves neither before, during of after all that happened and that makes it too unrelatable and tiring, which I find a problem since otherwise they are setting up his openess to new perspectives, but being this set up in such a average way and with the other things, he's not very interesting.
I thought the show doesn't look good, it was ambitious in trying to be cinematographic but they didn't quite know how to do it with this limited time and budget, and so all the CG was so blatant it took me out every moment, with the soldiers, animals (even eagles that seconds later are in 2D!), some backgrounds... The 2D in the more move scenes is not that well sincronized either, the way the 2D characters stay still with few movement and rate when the camera is moving so much is jarring. Arakawa's designs are not very good either sadly, they don't fit for this kind of show and although is kind of hilarious the Kimbley-face-guy, I wish she did different designs. In terms of voice-acting not conviced either with Arslan, it's so obviously a grown-up imitating a child-like voice but it's not consistent, some lines he speaks very sharp and light and others it's rough without making sense in the context. |

Watched DanMachi, it looks like the best of the season so far. It's a little fanservicy, but it's funny and has solid action and great art. It feels like Druaga, but it needs to have a wider supporting cast, which hopefully it'll gain.

Sigh. I ignored your first comment about Plastic Memories but I guess that fact that everyone else did as well prompted you to take a second swing.  It pains me to gratify your desire to be noticed, but what the hell.
I thought the execution of the scene with the little girl and the grandmother was very well done. Yes, it was designed to tug at your heartstrings, of course, but it did it in a way I found effective and not cheap. Clearly you disagree because your superior sense of taste prevents you from being influenced by such unseemly displays of emotion. Congrats on that.
And of course you can see the ultimate conflict coming a mile a way. You are supposed to. You are supposed to be dreading it and curious as to how it will play out. But again, a sophisto like you is impervious to a storyline like that. Enjoy your smug, self-satisfied sense of awesomeness while I enjoy the show. |

I finally got to Watch the first episode of the 2nd season of UBW and I'd just like to clarify something Key wrote.
Medea wasn't Greek - that is her tragedy. She was the daughter of the "barbarian" king of Colchis (in the southern Caucasus), fell in love with the Greek man, Jason (of the Argonauts fame), and helped him wrangle the Golden Fleece from her father. She bore Jason two sons but he refused to marry her after he received a better offer of a Greek princess. In retaliation she killed his bride to be, the bride to be's father, and her own two sons. I suppose you could say she is Greek in that she is known from Greek mythology. I don't know if the Colchis themselves left any records. |

Part of me thinks that's kind of the point of the old myth back in Greek times: avoid non greek women or something Looking back, Medea is much more tragic of a figure. As i'm new to Fate though, I'm not sure how they will play with that victim and victimizer aspect. |

Since her father was supposed to be the son of god Helios and Perseis, who was a daughter of Titan Oceanus, I think arguing about ethnicity is kinda pointless. It was just the edge of the known world as far as Argonauts were concerned. |
