Maybe. He also looks like the kind of character who is doomed to be overschadowed by the hero forever and ever. The four-eyes.

Calling it now, Nina and hipster news elf will start off bashing each others hobbies, pointing out the negative aspects of each. Then a small kid will walk by saying "Ewww, you both like comics!" Or something to that effect, and both will try desperately to defend comics, Kevin meets hipster elf, goes mad with jealousy!

One thing I like about ANN: if the character portrayals are unfamiliar in Robin's strips (apparently I'm not a true believer) all I have to do is come to the comment section to fill in the blanks. LOL Good job, you guys!

I'm fairly certain it's Daniel Clowes, since he is an indie comic book artist. Plus, the two girls standing next to him (along with "Weird Al") are from his comic "Ghost World", and the drawing in that panel just looks like a Daniel Clowes drawing. |
