OOOH! Seems nice so far! I do have to say that I'll miss the ANN Girl in the upper left corner though. Another thing that I noticed was that when I clicked on the My Anime/My Manga link, the lettering in the comments section seems a little light and it was a bit difficult for me to read. Not very difficult, just somewhat. Perhaps darker lettering should be considered. Other than that, I'm looking forward to playing around with the new format! Edit: Went back and double checked, yeah, the writing in the comments section of My Anime/My Manga is pretty light. I think if someone was going to spend time reading various descriptions from members, it would be hard if you wanted to read over a long period of time. I also like the front page! The lettering on the News was VERY easy to read!   (so speaks the very near-sighted 4-eyes!)

I don't have anti-aliasing turned on and so large headers in the right column like "Latest Articles" are rather jagged. It's not a big deal but I just remember getting crap for that way back when I was a paid content creator for a commercial website in a former life.

The general ANN search finally searches the encyclopedia first (and almost always puts it up as the first hit), so, New ANN Banzai!
The new design looks...well, different. Not better, not worse, but...different. Looks much more like other anime sites now. Good or bad thing? |

(Aimed at Omnistry) Well if you're lucky enough to get the Maplestory advertisement then there will be.
The look is kinda....ugh, im not sure I like it, its like an My MSN knock off but with anime and it took FOREVER to load MyAnime, im not sure why but JAMN that was long. |

Looks very professional, although a little bland. Having the news items more clearly dated is an excellent change and having them grouped by the day really makes it easier to grasp what's new and how new it is at a glance.
Hmm, didn't notice any problems with anything on my end. The tabs are nice and all, but I think you're going to have even more people ignoring the lexicon and such with this new set up. Question: Will this new set up mean fewer problems with advertisement banners covering ANN skin images or is this the end of choosing different skins for the site? |

Bug:
Mouseover on the arrow icon next to "Search" in the upper-right corner of the main page causes the image to disappear and is replaced with the image src instead: "beta.animenewsnetwork.com/images/system/btn_search_arrow.gif" Bug found using Firefox 1.5.0.8 I really like the new design! Awesome work! |

Aww, i miss the Tab on the left-hand side with the News & Views, Encyclopedia, etc.
That was convenient. Now it's at the top of the screen! The left side looks blank... |

I'm sorry to say that this design is a completely different beast than the previous one, so the skins won't work anymore. But it should make new skins easier to create since it is now 100% CSS-based. I've archived the skins (e.g. Chibi Pirate) so we can eventually port them to this new layout. |
