I see. Personally, I'm getting rather sick of Arcanine because it's presently one of the most popular Pokémon in official Sun and Moon tournaments, and a well-handled one is extremely annoying to face. But that's just me. I forgot how it works, but I remember someone deducing that the Pokémon's CP in Pokémon GO is based on some particular stats in the video games. If that's true, then that would explain why Arcanine's CP is so high--Arcanine has among the highest total stats in the main series games that isn't a Legendary Pokémon. (But in the main series games, Rapidash has a higher Speed and a greater variety of types of moves, allowing it to get the first strike on more Pokémon than Arcanine can. Rapidash also has Flash Fire, allowing you to safely switch Rapidash into any Fire-type attack and get a stat boost.) |
