The anime was amazingly faithful considering it had to squeeze ten volumes into twenty-five episodes (and two of those eps were anime-original, and a third was based upon a side story). There's some material cut, mainly dealing with side characters (the teacher is particular is much better developed in the novels) and Ami had her final character arc truncated. The biggest changes are with the ending -- because the last novel was still being written while the anime was in production, Mari Okada had to base the last few episodes upon an outline. The overall plot is the same, but there are differences in Ryuuji's motivations, the involvement of Taiga's mother, and the repercussions they face at the end.

Probably almost everyone who reads it will end up disappointed because it was axed, though. |
Ugh, that's never a good sign at all. Is the romance unresolved or something?.

I'm just gonna keep sitting in a corner and pining for the Chivalry of a Failed Knight LNs.

Apparently the ending is het. There's a timeskip, and the protagonist has an off-screen boyfriend. Which means I won't be bothered with it. The whole story is pretty bad, to be honest.

World God Only Knows... I have this in scanlated version and have read it through a few times. But I very much would like to get it in print as well. It's a big shot title so it's a mystery why someone hasn't licensed it at this point?...
Also the Shagukan no Shana light novels, would love if someone got those.

It surprises me as well. Maybe people afraid of length? It's 26 volumes long (but we have a lot of very long series..) Or maybe there is no fourth season, it could help to support sells.

Kinda. No one ends up with anyone but the last chapter is basically the author telling to the readers "okay, these two characters are heads over heels gay for each other and these two will eventually become an item". Nothing is resolved onscreen because of a lack of time but the author makes sure you know who will end up with who in a future. Not bad at all for an axed manga, I think the author did a great job dealing with the cancellation, she managed to delivery a satisfying ending after all.
I'm glad this was licensed, it's a great story despite the unfortunate circumstances.

To Love Ru took age to get licensed too, so I have some hope for The world God only knows. I would love of Seven Seas license it, maybe we could even get Medaka Box and Sora no Otoshimono. All these are titles with many volumes but SS did it with TLR and Freezing.

The wrap-around cover (or whatever it is called) had a time-skip comic, which implies that the protagonist has a boyfriend.

So, uh, just to warn anyone who thinks that Made in Abyss sounds cute and fun based on the art and premise: it's child guro/torture porn. I couldn't make it through the first chapter before it got gross, and apparently it gets even more so later on.

That fact has been mentioned plenty of times in the preview thread as well as in most of the article threads about it, doubt there are that many left clueless about. If someone is going into it with false expectations they really can't say they weren't warned...

Well, not everyone reads every page of the preview guide. And more warnings are never a bad thing.

I'm so happy to see New Game! be picked up. Now if someone can release the Osomatsu-san manga I'll be even more happier.
