Might have to paternity a date on Kodachi vs. Esmeraude (and which came earlier in the manga).

In the manga, Kodachi premiered in the late 80s. Sailor Moon didn't even start (as a manga) until the 90s. As for anime, yeah Ranma pretty easily predates Sailor Moon there too. It's POSSIBLE that some other anime predates Ranma on the ojou-sama laugh, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's another trope that Takahashi "invented" (or that Kodachi's seiyuu was "iconic" for doing it).

I do not perceive these tropes so much because I tend to watch the good stuff.

You can find it on YT, I just didn't want to link it since the source is a streaming site that shall remain nameless.

Comical Psychosomatic Medicine is available on Crunchyroll:

11 Standard yet generic Japanese landmarks. I don't mean the obvious things like Tokyo Tower, Mt Fuji or the Diet building, I swear I've seen this same beach/stone wall combo in over ten different shows. Artificial riverbank, sidewalk on a hill with concrete embankment.
That one corner in the mountains above x city that everyone drives round.
Yes, schools also always seem up hills like Lombard St. in San Francisco. Shocked

Let's not forget the popular "Unlucky Childhood Friend" and "First Girl Wins". Some of my fave trope combos are when the "First Girl Wins" also happens to be the"Lucky Childhood Friend"

How about: female cast inflicts violence on MC at the drop of a hat. Accidentally saw girl naked? That's a beatin. I had a nip slip and you happened to be there? That's a beatin. Girl walks in on you naked and it's clearly her fault? That's a beatin.

Please tell me this one is a trope and not something Japanese girls actually do. Razz

Ha! Yea, that first girl pattern, I find that incredibly tedious. I always hope against reality that it'll be a different story for once. Almost never is.

Well, Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya Kita High School is acutally up a hill like you see in the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya:
