No kidding. When can I get a R1 version of that set?? Geez...

I think FOX released one 13-episode set (so, like 1/4 of Season 1) a long time ago, but good luck finding it now. Sad So unless they decide to be nice and release a new boxset someday, your best bet will be an R2 DVDset.

Curse that collection of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
When can I have it? (In a language I understand, of course)

Welcome back Bamboo, hopefully you had a enjoyable and safe journey. As expected, I really this article.

I have a friend who likes Triple X Holic, despite the name. However, I might try this series out one of these days, but maybe not because of the dark humor and such.

Excellent review Bamboo, thanks again.

I know about that release, but I never tried to get it because it was only part of the series, and I can't stand partial collections. Razz

Do you know if the R2 has English subs? If it does, it's definitely worth getting. Smile

Wow, lookit all the import goodies... I didn't know there was a home version of ParaPara (not surprised, mind you, just didn't know).

You might wanna take a break from the importing and get some new shelves, though... that collection would look incredible with some proper organizing. Very Happy

One thing about Step Up; I wonder if the anime buyer for Best Buy had any idea what they were buying? My guess...no!

I'm more surprised that Best Buy even carried Step Up, let alone people acutally buying it there Laughing .

I believe daedelus was talking about the "buyer" for the store, who is the person who orders the anime and thus would be the reason Best Buy is carrying it.

I just checked Netflix and they are carrying it.

Welcome back Bamboo. ANN has not been that same without you.

Overall, Magikano made it to rental for me, I suspect because of the English script and dub. They worked in a Dave Chappelle reference in one of the earlier episodes!

Also, any show that has a sarcastic, crude talking sentient pair of magical panties has at least some comedic value.

The tone shift in the last bit was foreseeable, regrettable, but probably unavoidable given what the premise and what they were shooting for was.

I completely agree on XXXholic. While I liked the show and thought that it was very pretty, the plot just never went anywhere, and I soon became bored. I haven't watched the second season, so maybe it becomes less episodic, but it just couldn't hold my attention.

This seems to confirm my suspicion that Bamboo was on the edge of finishing her Mushi analogy by talking about the pacing, but liked it too much to associate with xxxHolic.

It's as if the ending of the Care Bears show was replaced by Jurassic Park 3; it's just not done.

... I was just about to finish typing how much I would want to see that movie, then realized there is probably a reason she picked the third movie over a general JP reference.

Though just to be formal, how much of the final rating was the apparent train-wreck ending versus recently having to repeatedly suffer through a Harry Potter movie?

FYI, xxxHolic actually pronounce as "holic". The xxx in the name just stand for everything that people are obsessd about. I was like you, when I first see the title...... I was going....... what? Clamp is drawing a story about people obsessed with xxx porn? hahhahaha
