Every article with "Hololive" in the title seems to be bad news, huh?

I mean, Hololive EN premiered just three weeks ago, and they’re doing well (all but one have over 300K subscribers and one of them will probably pass 700k in the next day or so), so it’s not like there isn’t any good news on that front. People tend to remember negative things more than positive things, for better or worse.

I don't know what the workload of a Vtuber is, but I imagine it comes with the same dangers as any mainly computer-based/typist job that won't allow you much chances in the way of moving around. Gotta look after your health and all.

But yes, I agree that it isn't as grim as it sounds. And yes, I've been enjoying the videos from the EN girls too. (Mainly Ina and Kiara's -- there's just so much more content than I can set aside time for, but at least that means I won't run out of entertainment in a hurry.)

And Kanata got hospitalized for a week today... I hope their health would improve and they would be back to stream and make their viewers happy again.

Not exactly.

Fubuki had a livestream on her birthday two days ago, and it's not bad news.

"Health reasons" is usually japanese business speak for sending someone on a break for a while, probably because of the backlash where she mocked janitors in a stream

It was that Ring Fit Stream last week that most likely caused this, the joke only caused the apology, Lamy was struggling quite a bit through that stream.

300k is basically free just for being in Hololive. Sustained viewers is a better metric but we need months to get real value for that. And the one with 700k is basically two accounts - her old and new due to the fact that everyone knows what her old account was and that it had almost a million subscribers. It's unfair to compare. Years of work vs months for everyone else.

Nope. Hololive is usually upfront about that stuff. Lamy hasn't seemed 100% for a bit now, honestly.

edit: Korone is also taking a week off because her mother is in the hospital. It's a really weird week. The only thing keeping me going is Luna's birthday stream on October 10th

She didn't mock Janitors at all, it was part of an extended conversation where Aqua called Marine a Janitor but all of the context was completely cut out of clips dumb antis posted purely to inspire hate and trolling

Antis in the idol industry are [expletive] insane and cover sucks ass at protecting its talent as seen from repeated examples of this exact problem.

As I expected, this article jumped the gun. She never said she was going on "hiatus" to begin with. She said she was taking time off until she feels better. Generally that's only a few days and isn't news worthy. And now she's already said she's coming back this weekend.

I'll have a delivery this weekend or so, so thank you for your patience...!We'll be back on Twitter in a bit ✨

Thank you for your concern and inconvenience...

Note: "delivery" is what JP call a live stream

Yes she did, even Narukami said that even within the context it was very bad and he usually defends hololive vtubers, if it just ended with them having a giggle about Marine being a janitor for 20 years at Aqua's construction company (in minecraft) it would've been fine. The problem was when they kept going with it, and saying that your kids would be ashamed if their parents were janitors for 20 years, even acting the situation out and saying "Papa what's your job. -I'm a janitor, I do my best with cleaning and stuff" And then laughing at it. For a lot of people that felt like a very realistic scenario and pretty insensitive for girls to laugh at, especially since they just play minecraft on youtube.

Korone is on hiatus for a brief period but it's due to her mother's health.

This. Yeah the beginning part was fine regarding the imaginary scenario, but then they got into that whole discussion of poking fun at being an actual custodian that stuck a nerve with many people. I mean it's not something I would get upset about but it definitely was in poor taste, especially considering the work they do.

I think a better way to put it is, Hololive personalities seem to be disproportionately affected by health problems and misfortune.
