Who could have guessed, the people saying Disney got the show and it wouldn't be simulcast were just making stuff up.

I think it'd be shocking if it was English dubbed for the premier. But, depending on who the partner is for the streaming simulcast (my guess is either Hulu or Crunchyroll), they'll probably get started on a dub a few weeks later.

I'm glad that it sounds like Viz did get the rights to the series. Now it can be released under the same company as the original series, but also means there's a much higher chance of it airing on Toonami eventually. It's a win-win all the way around, compared to the scenario of somebody like Netflix or Disney getting the rights.

It was never under threat of being bought by Disney+ because Viz has stated from the very start they have the rights to the new Bleach and that they will simulcast it and Viz is literally owned by Shuiesha. But every season Disney+ picks up an anime for streaming that’s exclusively for the service in Japan and people who have an agenda to spread false information seize on that to spread panic and disinformation for clicks and retweets. Just this season the second season of Devil is a Part Timer is on Disney+ Japan but it’s on Crunchyroll everywhere else.

FYI, Viz having the license wasn’t really up in the air. They announced the license months ago. Who they chose to partner with for streaming was the big question, with some rumors pointing towards Disney. And while a second rumor about a lack of a simulcast has seemingly been proven false, Disney announcing they have the streaming rights could still happen.

I’m also in the camp that would prefer that Crunchyroll had it, but the fact that they haven’t said anything about Bleach barely a month away from its premiere while openly hyping up their other major titles for fall doesn’t paint the most optimistic picture.

The D23 Expo is this weekend, so we’ll know in just a few days if we can finally put the Disney rumors to bed or not. If they’ve got it, that’s when they’ll announce it.

Pretty much the point. Viz having the license wasn't the question, it's who they gave the streaming rights to do so.

And this could be Disney's attempt of a simulcast while adding the dubs later compared to their Netflix approach of Summer Time Rendering and Black Rock Shooter: Dawn's Fall.

This feels like a moving of the goal posts to hang onto this rumor for some reason even though there's zero proof for it. The rumor comes solely from Disney+ announced they have Bleach in Japan which they have dozens of other anime that are not on Disney+ elsewhere. That is it to the extent of the "evidence."

There are tons of anime coming out this fall which have zero simulcast announcements. Crunchyroll has a long history of announcing shows like a few weeks before airing and sometimes even the day before. Crunchyroll has not announced they have the new Gundam show yet either but there are no conspiracies that Disney+ secretly has the new Gundam show.

D23 is strictly about Disney's own original IPs. It's obvious that the streaming announcement will probably be either at the NYCC event or sometime shortly after.

D23 is strictly about Disney's own original IPs. None of the actual anime Disney announced like Summer Time Rendering and Black Rock Shooter were announced at D23. It's obvious that the streaming announcement will probably be either at the NYCC event or sometime shortly after.

Could Netflix have Gundam instead?

Again Crunchyroll not announcing something is not proof someone else has it and you don't need to quote my entire post.

I mean, the thing is that it’s really odd of CR to announce they’ll stream a very anticipated anime near release. They tend to announce they’ll stream it early with the big hitters, so that’s why people suspect something is off.

Crunchyroll announced they had Digimon Adventure 2020 literally the day before it came out in Japan. And if it's so strange Crunchyroll hasn't announced Bleach yet, isn't it strange Disney has not said a single thing about Bleach? When Disney announced they had Summer Time Rendering and Black Rock Shooter, they put out a huge press release about it through Variety. They also had a lot of news announcements about the upcoming Twisted Wonderland anime coming out but it's silence from Disney about Bleach. Why isn't Disney heavily marketing Bleach with how big it is if they really have it this fall and it's all just Viz talking about it?

Perhaps because Viz is the licensor in this.

Which again proves my point that the lack of a license announcement does not prove Disney has the show and you're moving goal posts again.
