Everybody was expecting this and it's one of the reasons I cancelled. That also leaves me with no other subscriptions for streaming. I just can't be bothered when the companies themselves get in the way of my enjoyment.

Recently, a lot of people I know have been getting Jailbreak FireSticks. The main reason being Netflix password sharing bans. Here we have Disney, one of the most profitable companies in the world, joining in on the same practise.
Don't any of these CEOs know how fractured streaming has become, and that people can't afford to subscribe to all of them. Do they think that people will prioritise their service. Would it not be better to try and keep those who still have their accounts, because family members use them. At least come June, I will have seen The Princess and the Frog, thus finishing my Disney marathon. |

The drop in people was nothing compared to how many people signed up anew, which made Netflix's choice a financial success for them. It sucks, but the only way they're going to learn or go back on it is to lose money. :/ |

I feel like streaming has run its course. It feels so old and outdated now. We need a new method for companies to distribute media...perhaps on some sort of physical object that we can just buy and own outright. That way, if we wanted to share it, we could just hand it to our friends/family. You also wouldn't have to worry about the companies arbitrarily just removing it, or bandwidth limitations, or service interruptions, and the audio/video can be much higher quality. Yeah, this definitely sounds like the way of the future.

Cute, but we all know they’re not going to go back to that method except for collectors. What we really need is for streamers to fold and the market to consolidate. The sooner whoever buys Paramount puts Paramount Plus out to pasture, the better. |

The problem is if that really is the case at minimum they should only have a subscription to at least one of them and cutting back on whatever is too expensive. Like it would be convenient to have everything consolidated under one streaming service. But that would likely never happen. |

 I'm surprised one of a certain group haven't chimed in "you should all just go to pirating like I do" yet. Unfortunately, regular streaming may be what's "outdated" because the services think they will get more money from restricted/private streaming as a variation on the pay-per-view model that seems not to have been generally accepted. Let's hope someone doesn't say "hey, let's do streaming like Kindle does books..."

Likely just turn into me signing up once in a blue moon when I want to rewatch Owl House or something and otherwise not being part of it. Kind of barely use the service anyway, think the only thing I've actually watched on there this year so far is Summer Time Rendering.

TV isn’t outdated and so streaming is but both are used for different reasons but everyone should wake up because thinking TV is dead is kinda shallow. |

Yeah until people realize that their aggregate streaming combos altogether are much more expensive than cable, as streaming prices continue to rise because of most streaming networks not actually being profitable by their selves and companies restrict “how people are spending their money” by restricting account sharing, which will probably happen. Cable will come back, the infrastructure is already there an it just needs to be marketed better against streaming. Tbh cable has the advantage right now, what with all of the on-demand apps networks have that are super easy to use and the ability to price very competitively against streamers at the moment. It’s only a matter of time.

The password sharing crackdown seems odd. It's great for in-home families, but the moment they step out of the home, like for college, travel, etc., it seems overkill. I know the article said that there was just an additional fee to access outside the home, but that fee amount is not disclosed.
Streaming is not cable. With cable everything is on timed airing and if you miss something, you miss it. With Streaming, you choose what to watch and when, and can pause or return to it later. While having everything on one streaming platform sounds both good and bad, it won't happen. Good because you only have to pay of 1 platform instead of 3-5. Bad because if that service goes down or raises prices, you have to suck it up or discontinue using it. However, it doesn't look like HiDive, Netflix, Amazon, CR, or Hulu/Disney+ are planning on letting any other streaming company to become a complete monopoly. |

I would like Blockbuster and rental stores to come back. An all in one digital rental outlet for $4-10 rentals of movies and TV shows a la carte would be better than 100 different subscription services.

I fail to see any difference as i can do that currently with cable. Most cable providers come with DvR included and operate over what is essentially an internet connection anyway. |

To be fair I was talking specifically with regards to streaming services having everything available in one place but yeah. |
