Shadow being the one with the guns, they really better play up the John Wick jokes. This has a very good chance of being a solid film if they really push the emotional angle with Maria.

This is pretty cool I remember someone suggested Keanu a while back and I immediately thought "Yeah that would be pretty perfect casting". Awesome to have him and Elba providing voice work together for another video game project after Phantom Liberty. Bonus if their characters actually get to interact with each other this time around.

I mean, after Knuckles nothing really surprises me. Might as well go all in with the celebrity casting and memes. I wonder why Tails seems to be the only exception.

I think it just has to do with the low expectations set for the first film. They already brought in the VA for a cameo so it probably served as a good excuse to keep her on for the sequel. |

Why are Paramount themselves not announcing this? All I see are “sources tell Deadline” or “sources tell Hollywood Reporter” as if this is a leak.

Also, they would've probably gotten a child actor instead of a celebrity, and it just wasn't worth recasting Colleen for someone that would've ended up recast in the following one anyway. When they cast a celebrity, they usually want their voice to be as recognizable as possible. No way they'd cast a female celebrity and have her put on a boy's voice. It has never been done. |

I think with the way they redesigned Sonic after the backlash showed how they were very receptive to the fans and probably were aware recasting Collen would have caused similar backlash from the fans and they probably wanted to avoid anymore bad press with the sequel.

It's gonna be interesting to see what they do about that since Alyla Browne is currently and very definitely credited as playing "Maria" in the movie. |
