Basically once you have a problem it cascades and affects everything following so this is probably to be expected.

I'd rather have episodes postponed instead of have the cheap animation of Dragon Ball Super.

Because of one episode that will be fixed for dvd/blu-ray? Nah, overreacting much.

Also funny that Super becomes example of "bad animation" because of one episode where production schedule collapsed, when there's far worse stuff out there like Fairy Tail.

I don't know about super but a lot of Japanese television animation looks cheaply produced. God eater has makoto shinkai levels of detail in the animation so these delays should come as a surprise to no one. I'm wondering if it would be possible to move the project to the internet where multiple week breaks are far more common.

I do wonder what they'll do with the last few episodes now. Will the show bleed into the next season? The network has probably scheduled something for that slot already, so they'll have to find a slot for the show elsewhere or else we may end up with an indefinitely delayed ending like Blood Blockade Battlefront.

This wouldn't have been so bad if this weeks episode didn't end on a cliff hanger...

I think it would have been better if God Eater aired on Fall instead of Summer.

Ufotable just got done with UBW and they are working on Heaven's Feel and Tales of Zestiria's anime

I can't complain when I want to see shows get more time to perfect their artwork instead of rushing to keep to the weekly deadline.
However I was hoping ufotable had got a grasp on how long their episodes were taking to produce so they could work to that knowledge.

The problem will come when it has to straddle the two quarters of the year (summer and autumn) in order to finish its run. Just hope the broadcast network has taken it into account and is not doing a repeat of Durarara's ousting out Blood Blockade Battlefront.

Like someone else said earlier though, it's a god damn annoyance that the 5th episode ended on a cliffhanger.

I don't know when the last time you ever watched, or if you even watched Fairy Tail at all, but the animation has greatly improved ever since it restarted. There's nothing wrong with it at all.

Since the show is hand-drawn, rather than the more commonly-used computer-assisted techniques, it is understandable that the production requires more time than other shows. A bit annoying, but so far they haven't cut corners on the art, AFAIK. The story, however, is a different thing...

This really isn't saying much of anything. The line work for the vast majority of anime is still hand drawn, then scanned in to be colored and have effects applied. They're all "computer-assisted" in some way. God Eater is no different. One could argue that God Eater is far less hand drawn than quite a few shows currently airing, since it uses 3DCG for all the Aragami, while some shows don't use/barely use 3DCG.

Yeah but even the works of PA Works don't come close to the level of Ufotable, they are the best in the industry! Every show they make is a movie level production!
