Onsen Musume Multimedia Project Previews Idol Unit Singles

The Onsen Musume multimedia project hit the ground running after an extremely successful crowdfunding campaign earlier this year. The concept launched in hopes of revitalizing tourism to Japan's hot spring areas in the way Japan knows best: anthropomorphisizing them into cute girls and launching an idol group. The concept has thus far been a hit, so much so that a male version is in the works for next year.
SPRiNGS is the nine-member idol group made up of the voice actresses attached to the project. The project has since expanded to include additional groups Akatsuki, Lush Star, Adhara, and petit corolla. Akatsuki and Lush Star are releasing their first singles on September 20 and October 4, respectively.
Akatsuki is made up of characters Hinata Kinugawa (Miyu Tomita), Kei Tamatsukuri (Masumi Tazawa), and Tamaki Beppu (Yuka Iwahashi). The group characters are designed by Hiro Kanzaki, Niritsu, and Ponkan8. The group's first single includes the tracks "Hang out!!!" and "Never ending dream."
Lush Star is made up of characters Uika Atami (Kaede Hondo), Erina Ibusaki (Maria Naganawa), Mana Wakura (Yuna Taniguchi), Koyuki Ginzan (Megumi Toda), and Honami Shirahama (Satsumi Matsuda). The group characters are designed by Shirabi, Eri Natsume, Isshoku, Takehana Note, and Kasu Komeshiro.
The group's first single includes the tracks "Lush Star" and "Koi to Nazuketa mono."
The AKATSUKI vs LUSH STAR event will be held on October 9.
Since introducing its original nine characters, Onsen Musume has expanded to 36. The Adhara and petit corolla groups will release their single CDs on October 18 and November 1, followed by SPRiNGS' single "Hop Step Jump" on November 15. The the Adhara vs petit corolla event will be held November 11.
