posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Anime premiered on May 5, English dub debuted on May 25

The official Facebook page of the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise announced last Saturday that the English-dubbed episode releases of the anime will take a two-week hiatus. The English-subtitled episode releases will continue without a hiatus.

The English dub for the anime premiered on the anime's official YouTube channel on May 25.

The anime premiered on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11 on May 5, on TV Aichi on May 6, and on tvk on May 9. The anime is also streaming on AbemaTV. The official YouTube channel began streaming the series with English subtitles starting on May 5, and Crunchyroll is also streaming the series but is not streaming the English dub.

Bushiroad describes the anime:

The new animation series is an adaptation of the titular manga by Akira Itō and features familiar characters in the long running franchise, Aichi Sendou and Toshiki Kai as protagonists.

Depicting a youthful story about Cardfighters who clash passionately through challenges against each other, the new season follows the main protagonist, Aichi Sendou, as his life takes an exciting turn when he is reunited with Toshiki Kai, the person who gave him an important rare card, “Blaster Blade” from the game, “Vanguard”.

The series features a returning Japanese cast.

Itsurō Kawasaki (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT) is directing the anime at OLM. Masanao Akahoshi (Future Card Buddyfight, Future Card Buddyfight 100) is supervising the script. Satoru Isono (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT, Omamori Himari, Akane Maniax) is designing the characters. Teruhiko Niida (Kill Me Baby, Cardfight!! Vanguard G) is the art director. Yūichi Imaizumi (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT) is the sound director.

Roselia is performing the opening theme song "Legendary," and the characters Aichi Sendou (as voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga) and Toshiki Kai (Takuya Satō) are performing the ending theme song "Gift from The Fight!!"

Bushiroad is also producing a separate spinoff television anime based on the in-story Bermuda Triangle mermaid idols, as well as a smartphone game titled Cardfight!! Vanguard Zero. The spinoff anime about the Bermuda Triangle mermaid idols will debut in winter 2019, and it will run during the same time period as the main television anime.
